December DD

Hello-Hello

Here is my card for this month's friendly Duel between the Divas and Darlings. Our hostesses this month are Barb and Michelle. This month our theme is Winter Travel, and Barb sent us Divas the most cutest image from Whipper Snapper (Downhill Snowman) with a matching sentiment - Chase Snowflakes (which can be seen on the inside of my card below). I had tons of fun using all the fun embellishments Barb sent with the kit, and I have to admit, I might have went a little overboard on them... :)

Here is the inside of my card:

For this month's duel, Barb & Michelle wanted us to share a winter travel story, whether it be sledding, skiing or skating. When I was younger, my grandparents lived in what is now my parent's home. I grew up about 2 blocks down the street from Grandma and Grandpa Nygaard. During the winter, my sister and I would haul or sleds up to Grandma and Grandpas to go sledding. Their house had a bit of a hill, and back in those days there was not a fence at the bottom of their property like their is now. So we would get some pretty long rides on the sled. The best part, is some days, my grandma would be baking the old fashioned cake doughnuts. She would send a bag of the donut holes home for our family. But she would also send us a smaller bag to munch on the way home. Mmmmm!

Please be sure to go check out the other Divas and Darlings and see what they have created...

PTI Swaps

Hello Hello

I have been busy crafting today :) I'm hosting a PTI Swap over on SCS and was a little short on a few categories to make the swaps "even" to have enough to go around.

First up is a Christmas card I made using Candy Cane Christmas. I used a sentiment from Holiday Button Bits.  I CASED this card from one of Dawn McVey's creations:

My second PTI Project is a couple of tags I created using Holiday Button Bits, and Vintage Holiday PTI Buttons:

Going Places

Hello Hello

I hope you are enjoying November so far. It sure has been a busy month for me, between going to Arizona for a week and moving back to my hometown. I'm slowly but surely getting settled into the new "digs".  My post is a bit late this month, as I have been busy moving.

Our November Duel is themed "Trains, Plains, and Automobiles. November is Aviation History Month and also has National Model Railroad Day. When I think of Aviation, I think of my mom who is always looking out for passing fighter planes that are running practice routes. I'm always amazing how easily she can tell the difference between a F-14 and F-16. I can't that's for sure!

I LOVE to travel, by all modes of transportation. The last 4-5 years my friend Scott and I have taken a few Amtrak trains. it's a wonderful way to see the country......and often the tracks do not travel along highways so you see things you would normally not see from a car. The longest train ride we have taken so far is 26 hours.

For my card, I decided not to use an image this time around. Our hostess carol sent such awsome papers I wanted to get as much of it on my card. I think I would use this card for someone that's taking a trip somewhere a long distance away, to remind them that I would be thinking of them during their journey.

Thanks for stopping by!

Every other month I participate in an "Unidentified Image" swap on SCS. Terry was our hostess this month and sent us cute images from My Favorite Things. I had a fun time coloring in this one. :) The sentiment is from another MFT set of my own,.. I thought it would work perfect with the image.

Witchy Girl

Hello Hello ~

I was too tired to post this last night when I finished it, but I knew I had to post this one tonight because this Little Witch PI image from MFT is so stinkin' cute!

I created this card for MFTWSC90 (sketch) and this week's Twisted Tuesday Challenge, which was to include something on your card that can fly. I have no idea if this little girl can fly, but she does have a broom to try to fly.....Maybe you will see her flying around her neighborhood late next month. :)

Here is the inside of my card. I used patterned paper from Basic Grey (Eerie 6X6 pad) on both the outside and inside of my card.

Here's the sketch for the challenge:

School Girl

I have another card to share tonight. I created this for a MFT Sketch Challenge a few weeks ago and never got around to posting it in time, so here she is now. The color combo is out of my comfort zone I think, but she still looks pretty darn cute in pink :)

I normally do not use flowers like these on my cards, but I saw them at Hobby Lobby when they were 50% Off (Spare Parts) and decided to try them.

Here is the sketch I used. I left of the sentiment tab as I thought it might get too "busy"

PTI Swap

Hello Hello ~

Hope your Monday has gone well :) Today I am sharing 2 of the 3 swap cards I created recently for a Paper Trey Ink (PTI) Swap on SCS and I'm really excited because I am hostessing the next round! It's been about a year since I hostessed a SCS swap, so I'm really looking forward to it!

The first card is my square card. I used a sentiment from Beautiful Butterflies. the size of the card is 4.25" X 4.25" square.

My second card was for the pocket card category.....I used Simple Sunflower. This might be my favorite of the two, because of the fall colors!

I have to check my other camera chip to see if I have a photo of the third card. If I don't have it I will just make another one to show you later :)

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Mish Mash

Hello-Hello

It's "mish-mash" month for the darlings and divas........where we have saved up all of our leftovers to use on our card this month.  I have to admit, I did not use many goodies on my card......as it just did not lend itself to doing so :( But I did use a lot of patterned paper and just got carried away with that part....LOL!

The image is from Whipper Snapper. I love this BBQ guy, he's one of my favorites! For this month's card I did some sort of a pop-up card......my brain is so mish-mash (ha ha) as I am writing this late at night.......(you would think since we have had all these goodies for months I could get the card together sooner than the night before wouldn't you???? nah......)

So here is the card open, with my favorite part, I love the twine and button on the craft cardstock....

Thanks for stopping by today! Please be sure to go check out the other Divas and Darlings and see what they have created...

Dueling Darlings and Divas!

Hello Hello

Time for the months duel between the Darlings and Divas.....Kelly is our Diva hostess this month, and the theme is "Are You Game"! I totally love this theme, as I love to play both board and card games. My favorites are Euchre and Cribbage although I am a bit rusty at both of them these days. Growing up I loved to play Monopoly and Life. I suppose the games of Candyland and Connect Four will be played soon as my niece gets older! Can't wait!

Kelly sent us an image from Whipper Snapper, "Pair of Aces". I decided to use two DSPs, the red and white striped Chevron is from Glitz in Town (a new company for me), and the yellow dotted is from Bo Bunny - Vintage Buttercup. I colored the image with copics and cut it out. The image is layered on a Spellbinders Heart Circle die. I also used two ribbons, Kaisercraft Flourishes wooden die-cut (the diamond-shaped accent), Kaiser Bling, and a Basic Grey Button. On the Kaisercraft wooden diamond I added a cherry-cobbler punched heart.

Thanks for stopping by today! Please be sure to go check out the other Divas and Darlings and see what they have created, as I am sure they all WINNERS! :)

Hey Sassy Pants

Hello.

I'm still catching up on some of the sketch challenges I normally like to do, this was for MFTWSC83 a couple of weeks back. I'm going to work on MFTWSC84 sometime today :)

For my card I used the MFT Cute-A-Tude Pure Innocence set. The patterned paper is all from Cosmo Cricket Circa 1934 6X6 pack. The button is from Basic Grey. Not sure where I got the Baker's Twine (from a LSS I think).  I also used some MFT Banner Die-namics.

Here's the sketch I started with:

I save all of my completed sketches (or ones that I like) into a folder on my computer. When I need sketch inspiration, I just flip through the images in the folder. It usually gets me started :)

Mystery Image Swap

Hello Hello

It's been awhile since I have posted :( I have been doing some crafting, just not getting the time to share lately. I'm going to try to change that :)

Today's card is for on-going swap I am in in SCS which is a Mystery Image swap, every other month we have a mystery images (all the same) sent to us.  We then make four similar cards with that image & mail them to the hostess. She gets to keep one, and we get 3 back in return that are created by other swappers in the group. When we get our returns, there's more images, from a new hostess :) I'm not hostessing for awhile :)

So JanetJ is our hostess this time around, and she sent us some cute House Mouse images to play with. I went with a pastel color theme and used some retired DP from Stampin' Up. The ribbon is from Offray, and the glitter flower is from K&CO. I also used MFT Die-Namics on my card.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Retirement Gift

Hello ~ Hello

Happy Wednesday.....Work week is half-way done. :) Tonight is a quick post, which are some cards I created recently as a gift for someone at work who retired recently. I used Everyday Button Bits & Up Up and Away from Papertrey Ink. I created a set of 12 cards, 4 Birthday, 4 Thinking Of You, and 4 Thank You. I kept the design and papers the same, since I was making multiples :)

Below is a photo of most of them ......

And here is the tag I made for the gift bag, using some other PTI Sets, Simple Sunflower and Button Boutique. The sentiment is from another PTI Set, On the Farm. I love combining my PTI Sets :)

MFTWSC80 - Celebrate

Hello ~ Hello

Here is my card for MFTWSC #80 on SCS. Love having a square sketch to play with this week, I don't make many square cards, even though any sketch can be incorporated into a square card. For my card I used the adorable (yea I say that about all the PI Images) Birthday Princess PI set from MFT. The dress and crown are paper pieced. I used patterned paper from Basic Grey (Hopscotch Collection), ribbon from SU! (Ribbon Originals - retired), and two MFT Die-Namics (Monarch Border and Mini Wavy Pennants) Below is the inside of my card:

Cooking Out

Hello Hello ~

I hope you are enjoying your July so far ~ Mine has been a busy one so far! I'm looking forward to enjoying the rest of the month and August before the leaves start to fall (unfortunately some are falling early this year due to the lack of rain).

Anyway, it's the 15th of the month so it's time for the Monthly Duel. Our hostesses Tami and Darlene. From Tami I received a really fun kit with a Grilling theme, which is perfect for July with all the BBQ's and family cookouts that happen this time of the year. I absolutely LOVE the image she sent us, which is Grill Sergeant from Whipper Snapper Designs. She also sent some great DP and embellishments, some of which are on my card. I really wanted to use the plaid red from MME and the blue/white polka dot from We R Memory Keepers together. :) I think they go very well together, and also bring somewhat of a USA theme to the card.

Thanks for stopping by today! Please be sure to go check out the other Divas and Darlings and see what is on their grill for you today ;)

The sentiment is from My Favorite Things "Big Greetings". I used patterned paper from SU! (retired - it was a full 12X12 pad from a few mini-catalogs ago). Ribbon is also from SU! (Purely Pomegranate  Double Stitched) I also used a mini EK-Sucess Cupcake Punch, Spellbinders Ovals Dies, and SU! Scalloped Edge Punch.

Here is the sketch below:
