Thank You Nurse

Good evening,

This is my challenge card for the 4/24 Potluck Friday Challenge over on StampTV. We were to make a card that was not square or rectangle. I wanted to make my girlfriend at work (who happens to be a nurse) a thank you card, just for being a good friend of mine. We eat lunch together and this week she started walking with me during lunches. Being a nurse, she's also saved me a *few* trips to the doctor's office with her great advice as well.

So with that, I made her this oval shaped card using Nurse Feelgood.  The nurse image was stamped on Gina K 80 lb. Luxury White with  Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored with Prismacolor Markers. I popped the image up on dimensionals. The oval card was made with the nestablities dies. Melanie has a great tutorial on how to cut shaped cards with your Nestabilities.

Have a great evening!

Monday Mojo Sketch 84

Good Evening!

Here's my card for this week's Mojo Monday sketch using Rupa's newest Gina K Designs set "Guiding Light". I love the images in this set.

I colored in the image with Prismacolor Markers. I got the lighter shading on the wood post by coloring over it a few times with the colorless blender marker. I'm still learning how to color but I think I am getting better.

Thanks for looking!

Hello, I have two Gina K Release Challenge Cards to share today (hopefully the 3rd one will come later today). The first one above is for the Yummy Recipe Challenge (#2) which was to use one pattern DP, two ribbons, and three eyelets. I also used Friday's Taylored Expressions Sketch (TECC65) and flipped it on the side. The horse stamp is another image from her new set Out West (Gina K Designs). The card base is Gina's new Chocolate Kiss Luxury Cardstock. I LOOOVE this stuff! It's so nice and sturdy for card bases!

My second card (below) is for Gina K Challenge #1 - Adorn Your Corner. I wanted to try to use two of Melanie's Gina K Sets (Wee Tees and Have A Cookie) for this card. I used Basic Grey Cupcake Paper & Basic Grey Cupcake Brads. This card originally was going to be for the recipe challenge (above) but I started pulling out more Basic Grey paper for it and could not use just one pattern.

Have a great afternoon, it's a cloudy rainy damp sunday here, so I am going to get some spring cleaning and hopefully more stamping done the rest of the day.

Hey There Cowboy!

Howdy!

Hope ya'll are having a great weekend! It's been stormy/rainy all day here, so I've been playing with stamps and watching sports all day ~ it's been so nice to have a weekend with no plans for a change!

Gina K has a new stamp illustrator, Theresa! Ya'll gotta go check her blog too to see what she's doing with her newest set Out West! It's an awsome set! Just last week, I was looking at some western-themed sets on another site, and then this set came out, I'm SO GLAD I waited! The sentiments and images are great! You can make a lot of masculine cards with this set!

Anyhow, this is the first card I have made with this set, I made six of them for Kate's Western Themed Swap. I stamped the image with Memento Tuxedo Black on Gina K Luxury 80lb White Paper, then colored it in with Koh-I-Noor Pencils and Gina K OMS. The DSP is retired from SU (I can't find the catty it was in, I'll add the name of it later if I find it) My main colors used were Really Rust, Chocolate Chip, and Sage Shadow. I also used 5/8" Chocolate Gross Grain, and SU Hodgepodge Hardware.

Have a super night! :)

Gina K Sneak Peek Day Three

Hello!

Here is another sneak peek from Melanie's new set "Little Tees" . This time I made a little baby shower announcement using the SU Love Notes Cards. The front of the card is above, the bottom of the card is below. the size of the card is 3.75" X 2.75". I think I will be making a few more of these to hand out to family & friends.  The little onesie image was stamped with Stazon Timber Brown on Pink Pirouette and cut out. I then stamped the image again on DP and cut out the individual pieces and layered on top of the Pink Pirouette image. I colored in the "hems" with Close To Cocoa SU Marker.

Thanks for looking!

Gina K Sneak Peek ~ Day Two

Here is another sneak peek @ Melanie's Wee-Tees! Isn't the choo-choo train adorable? The onesie image was stamped on 80lb Gina K Luxury White, as well as the Train/sentiment with Memento Tuxedo Black. I then sponged over the image with Bashful Blue ink, colored in the train and "hems" with SU Markers, and cut the image out.  I thought the sponging would work well, how often to you see a perfect colored tee in a baby drawer? They wear them so often they just fade out! LOL! The oval layers were created with Nestabilities (Petite Ovals/Scallops). The "You're 2" sentiment was stamped in Night of Navy. The word "You're" is from one of Melanie's other sets "Tee Talk".

I'll be back tomorrow with another project (and more of my little niece Tavi!).

Gina K Sneak Peek!

Hello!

Awhile ago, Melanie Muenchinger contacted me and asked me if I wanted a sneek peek at her latest release for Gina K Designs. I was so excited I could hardly bear to keep this "secret". Well the wait is over and I can finally share "Wee Tees" with you which will be released this Thursday at Gina K Designs This set is SOOOOO adorable! I totally love Melanie's stamps sets, and this one is NO exception. It's gonna be one of my favorites for sure. I was even MORE THRILLED (if that's possible) that she asked if I would participate in today's Gina K Blog Hop! So here I am with my scrapbook page, which is 8X8. I totally love these little baby onesies. they are just so cute, and the sentiments included on the set are even cuter! Plus, there are tons of other images from Melanie's other sets you can use with this set for even more creativity.

See the binky on the right onesie? That's From Hip Hop Accessories. How cute is that? All of the other stamped images on this scrapbook page are in the new set. The pattern paper is from DCWV Nana's Kitchen Baby Girl Stack. For the clothesline, I put brads through the onesies, and then wrapped the Twine around each brad. I had this idea immediately after I saw this set!

Oh, and the cute little girl on the page is my adorable niece Tavi Such a cutie huh? I can tell you, I'm gonna be using this set A LOT for her scrapbook pages!

A Little Update...

Good Evening,

Just a little update, I haven't been posting much this week (oops!) Seems I've gotten side-tracked by some "projects" this week, and then over the weekend I was in Chicago for a baseball game (that time of year - yeah!)

I'll be by tomorrow (actually in 5 hours) with some of the "projects" I have been working on, so please stop by again and visit tomorrow!  I'll have a few posts this week that I can't wait to share with you!

Have a super evening!

Emboss Resist

Good evening!

Quick post tonight, this card was made for Gina's Technique Challenge over on StampTV, which is Embossing Resist. I don't do this technique very often but it's a great technique.

I stamped the flower image from Gina K's Comfort & Peace Stamp Set on Gina K Luxury 120lb white paper (I like to use the 120 lb weight for any embossing techniques). I used Versamark for the ink. I then covered the inked image with SU White Embossing Powder, tapped off excess, and heat set it. It's a really shimmery white, although it's hard to see in the photo. After I was done heat-setting, I sponged over and around the image with Regal Rose Ink. The pattern paper is from Nana's Kitchen Baby Girl DCWV 12X12 stack. I love DCWV paper, right now it seems to be all I'm buying!

Have a super night! Hugs ~ LJ

Hp Hop Thursday!

Happy Thursday! You know what that means? Tomorrow is Friday! Yeah!

When my friend Joy (daiseyfreak) came to visit me last month, she brought a ton of Unity Stamps with her ~ I did not realize how cool these stamps were. I was able to stamp away and get lots of images to play with on Hip Hop Thursdays!

So this is my first Hip-Hop Thursday Unity Challenge card, which we were to make a card that could be used for any occasion. At least that was what I thought this was gonna be for, when I went back to post my challenge card on SCS, I noticed the 2nd challenge - THINK GREEN. Hello double-challenge! :)

Hope you like this card. I love the Marine Blueberry DSP (Stampin Up!) I wish I would have gotten a 2nd package before it retired, I really LOVE these colors together.

Have a super night! :)

On Safari

Good Evening!

I think spring is FINALLY here. It was sunny and in the 50's today!

Anyhow, here's a card I created this evening for this week's sketch challenge over on StampTV. I am so loving this Zoo Animals Set. These little guys are so cute!
I used some DP I got over the weekend at my LSS - DCWV Safari Chic. Totally love this stuff! :)

I'm off to make some Magic Bars for treat day @ work tomorrow! Yummy!

Have a great night! :)

Good Evening,

It's been so long since I have played with SEI's Aunt Gerti's Garden DP I thought I would pull it out tonight and make a cute little dress with the velvet DP that was in the kit. I used the dress from Rupa's Retro Boutique Set (Gina K Designs). The solid colored paper is Mellow Moss and Pink Pirouette. I made this card for a Virtual Shoe Box Swap on SCS. Basically we create the whole card (X6) except we don't assemble it or color the images. It was a lot of fun to put these together.

Have a good night!

MFT May Ambassador Challenge

Hello all, hope you are having a great Sunday. I spent the afternoon with my family including my cute little 9-week-old nice Tavi. She was cracking smiles and adorable faces most of the afternoon. Awww!

Anyhow, I thought I would share my big project for the weekend that i have been working on, which is the May Ambassador Challenge. The challenge was to find inspiration from this abstract picture that was posted over on SCS. I loved all the bright colors so decided to try to pull those into my card. I'm really pleased with how it came out! I did most of the paper piecing late last night (er, early this morning!) and then put the rest together this morning. The card uses the MFT Set "Here's The Scoop".

The full recipe can be found HERE in my SCS Gallery! Thanks for looking!

Have a super night!

Badger Hockey Riley

Happy weekend! This card was made for this weekend's Hanna Stamps Challenge, which was to use Red, White, and Black for the color combo. Being that this is one of my favorite color combos, this challenge came pretty easy for me. Hockey Riley had not seen ink yet so I decided to play with him. I also wanted to try to make a scalloped card using the long rectangle nestabilities. Melanie Muenchinger has a great tutorial on how to make card bases using nestabilities HERE. It's actually very easy to do, but I found the tutorial really helpful!

Anyhow, I stamped Hockey Riley in Memento Tuxedo Black ink, and colored the image in with Prismacolor Markers. I ran the long back panel through my Cuttlebug with the Spots & Dots A2 Embossing folder to give it a little texture. The Wisconsin Badger Ribbon is from Joann Crafts.

Have a super night! :)
