DD - Kindness

Hello Hello!

The 15th of the month is here (already) so it's time for another Duel between the Divas and Darlings.

The Dueling Darlings are a group of friends from SCS that swap cards and beyond and formed a new group called the Dueling Darlings! Divided into Group A and B, which wasn't a cool name so we are now the Divas and the Dazzlers, have a montly rotating hostess kit that goes out to make cards! The Divas have one card kit to work with, while the Dazzlers have another! It's fun to see what we "duel" up in cardstock, papers and wonderful images!

I am a Diva - and this month's hostess is Kelly. She sent some images and sentiments from Unity that truly represents this month's theme - Kindness!

I colored the image using prismacolor pencils and gamsol. Because it is a larger image, I decided to make a square card (5.25") this time around.  I used most of the beautiful paper and coordinating embellishments sent with the kit.

Here is the inside of the card:

MOJO228 - It's a Good Day

Hello~Hello

Popping in today with my card for this weeks' MOJO Monday Sketch (#228) I flipped the orientation from portrait to landscape as it fit the image & sentiment better (which are both from Unity Stamp Co.

I used some bolder/brighter colors on this card, Brilliant Blue for my base, some Old Olive, and patterned paper from Fancy Pants Designs (To The Moon Collection).  The sketch is below.

Thanks for stopping by - have a wonderful Sunday! Hugs ~ LJ

Swap Card #2 Thanksgiving

Hello ~ Hello

Thanks for stopping by today! Here is my Thanksgiving card for Viv's Holiday Swap on SCS (which I previously posted about yesterday). I used the same sketch as I did for the Halloween Card, I changed the primary shape from a circle to a label punch from EK Success. The pumpkin image (Unity Stamp Co.) was stamped in Dusty Durango. I used a Chocolate Chip marker for the stump. It's cut out and popped up on dimensionals. The sentiment is from SU!. I used patterned paper from K&CO (Tim Coffey Fall Collection ~ have had it for a few years). The Dusty Durango polka-dot ribbon is from SU!.

What Women Want...

Hello -

Another swap card to share today, Barb's What Women Want swap over on SCS. I'm probably in the minority with most crafty peeps out there, but I'm not a sewing person. I love to see stitching on cards, it's amazing to me to be honest. I want to sew, but I'm hesitant about putting paper (or any other material) into one of those machines that have all those gadgets on them (Buttons, Knobs and Needles oh my!)  So this swap became more of a what I WANT. :) I'm hoping to go down that road soon......maybe before I turn 40.....or 50..... Well you get the idea.... :) Anyzoo the good thing is I got to finally use an adorable Unity Set for this swap, Material Girl. Ahmm I just found another thing that women usually want, that cute little waistline on that main image. I'm so not getting there again.....I used some of the cute patterned paper from the SU! Occasions Catalog. Love bright colors this time of the year......

Thanks for stopping by ~ I'll have another post tomorrow ~ A birthday card for a co-worker that will make you want to giddyup and kick up your heels!

It's A Good Day

Hello Friends ~

Here is my card for this month's "Sketch For You To Try" Challenge. I thought this was a really fun sketch. This month's sketch is being sponsored by Unity Stamp Co. so I thought it would be the perfect sketch to pull out one of my newest Unity sets, It's a Good Day. I used Cupcake Basic Grey patterned paper....cuuuute stuff!

Thanks for stopping by!

Basic Grey Challlenge

Hello ~

Tonight I have been working on the current challenge on the "Basic Grey Challenge Blog". I came across this challenge blog lately, and I'm already in love with it, because of course I love my Basic Grey!  The challenge this time was a sketch, and I quickly pulled out one of my new Unity Itty Bitty Sets, "Rain or Shine".  I bought it before Valentine's Day thinking I would use it for some mod Valentine's Card, but I never got around to it. So being that this sketch features an oval for the main focal image, I now had the perfect reason to pull it out and ink it up.

I've used the Basic Grey Nook and Pantry collection for my patterned paper. The Cardstock is Wild Wasabi and Daffodil Delight (love this yellow shade!). I used some retired SU! Ribbon Originals & Basic Grey Buttons for embellishments. The sentiment was stamped with Wild Wasabi ink.

Thanks for stopping by ~

Hello,

Here is my MOJO 174 Sketch card for this week :) I picked out one of my Unity sets that has not been used very much "Love Is In the Air" for my card. The hot air balloon image is stamped directly on the card base.  The red and white linen thread used on the buttons was gifted to me recently by my friend Michele  (thank you!) What a great sketch for a quick card or two! I've added a recipe below for those interested.

Criss-Cross Pocket Card

Hello, it's been awhile since I have tried a criss-cross pocket card, and I purchased a new set from Unity Stamps (Simple Blessings) over the weekend and couldn't wait to play with it last night.

I used a really easy tutorial from SCS.

Photo below shows the two pieces separately:

Hp Hop Thursday!

Happy Thursday! You know what that means? Tomorrow is Friday! Yeah!

When my friend Joy (daiseyfreak) came to visit me last month, she brought a ton of Unity Stamps with her ~ I did not realize how cool these stamps were. I was able to stamp away and get lots of images to play with on Hip Hop Thursdays!

So this is my first Hip-Hop Thursday Unity Challenge card, which we were to make a card that could be used for any occasion. At least that was what I thought this was gonna be for, when I went back to post my challenge card on SCS, I noticed the 2nd challenge - THINK GREEN. Hello double-challenge! :)

Hope you like this card. I love the Marine Blueberry DSP (Stampin Up!) I wish I would have gotten a 2nd package before it retired, I really LOVE these colors together.

Have a super night! :)
