New Technique (for me anyways!)

Here is the project I was working on today. Sunday I am doing a chipboard demonstration at my SU group meeting for demonstrators. I found this technique in a older magazine. What is it? Reverse Embossing. And it's easy too!
The basics:
I stamped the bird (Always SU Set) on to the chipboard with versamark. Then, I heat embossed the image with white embossing powder (make sure the image is really embossed well!) Next, I took the embossed image and rubbed it directly on a Rose Stamp pad. I ended up rubbing pretty hard and for about 3-4 minutes to get the whole chipboard covered. After covering the chipboard in Rose Red, I took a tissue and wiped off the excess ink that was on the white embossed bird. The rest of the card is pretty easy. I used SCS Sketch 165, which is the sketch for this week.

Thanks for looking!

Hoppy Friday

Good Morning! I tried to post this card two days ago but was having trouble doing picture uploads. Hope this cute bunny was worth the wait. The set is called So Hoppy from Gina K Designs
I just love this set. It's so cute!
The Kangaroo was stamped with Black Stazon, and then I used my WWC to color  it in with the blender pens. I cut out the basket, the basket portion is again WWC, and then for the flowers I used SU Markers cause I wanted them to be a little bolder. To attach the basket, I cut out around the Kangaroos arm with a craft knife, and then put the basket around the arm. I secured the basket with a glue dot.For the Card base I used Cool Carribean, and then accented it with Pixie Pink and Pretty in Pink. The ribbon is retired fron last year's winter MINI, and the DSP is retired from last years catalog (I've got to work better on the names). I also used soft subtles brads, ticket corner punch, and both oval punches. The sentiment is popped up with a dimensional.

I'll have more later! I want to work on Beate's WSC! And the weekly SCS challenge today! :)

WSC35 - Beate's Sketch

This is my card for Beate's Weekend Sketch Chalenge #35. I love this layout (yea, I pretty much love them all!) I also did SCS CC154 for the colors (Certainly Celery, Orchid Opulence, and Pumpkin Pie). The DSP is SU Jersey Shore, and the stamp is from Gina K Designs (Down on the Farm). The base of the card is a 4.25" square. I used Watercolor Wonder Crayons & Blender Pen for the wheelbarrow and ground, and colored the rest in with SU Markers.  Thanks for looking! :)

Earthy Friendly Flower

I needed a cheer-me up card today, but this is what I had planned. It's a little muted/dull for colors but it will work for today. Guess I'll come up with a brighter card tomorrow. :) Once again, I'm using the new Friendly Flowers Set from SU. the inner flower took quite awhile to cut. I used my SU markers to color the stamp before stamping on to Whisper White. The tab was made with the SU tab punch, and the "friend" stamp is from Fundamental Phrases. I think I need to keep both of these sets on my desk where I can reach them! TFL!

I'm A Little Lazy This Week

Sorry I haven't posted much this week! I hope to have some stamping to post tomorrow for sure! I have not done a lot of stamping this week other than working on my swaps. Trying to get all caught up before I head to Arizona next month for Spring Training!

Challenge #2 - Gina K

Here is the 2nd challenge, which was alter any item. The stamps are Gina K (How Sweet It Is), This is a little tin I altered. It's big enough to fit a gift card in it. The little "Bling" is SU Rhinestone Brads. The Ribbon and DSP is retired from the 2006-2007 Winter Mini. I still LOVE this DSP!
I colored in the image with WWC and my Blender Pens.

This is such a cute set. It's my mom's but I had to borrow it. :) I don't think she is going to see it for awhile! hee!

Gina K Card Challenge

Gina K Designs had a release party last night (see shopping link for the cute new sets!!) and there were a couple challenges which I participated in. This is the first challenge which was to apply a sketch to the challenge. So this is what I came up with tonight (after a long day of work ~ LOL!)  The stamps are Gina K Just B-Claws. Everything else is SU. I made the scallops around the circle with a 1" circle punch. Other than that it was pretty easy!

Bringing Back an Old Favorite

Well, I'm still not over the fact that SU retired the Bodacious Bouquet Set. It's still one of my favorite sets. I just signed up for a "I can't live without this set" swap, and this will probably be the stamp set I use.

I thought this would be a cheery card to post today, since it is -4 here. (wind makes it feel like -26!) Get out the flannel jeans (yea for those of you down south we do have flannel lined jeans up here and they are absolutely comfy!

Anyways, back to the card. I got the layout from SCS except I turned it to the long ways. The teal flower is popped up with dimensionals. I also used my Fundamental Phrases set on the card.

Love Friendly Flowers (that one stamp is HUGE...wait until you see the card I just made!), Tart and Tangy (so adorable, - can see these going on some 3X3 cards! The silver hodgepodge, definitely my fav hodgepodge SU has come out with yet! and everything else! Woo-Hoo! I am going to have some serious Stamping time this weekend so I can play with all my new goodies! The felt flowers are yummy too - and check out the tin! It's like 1" deep! How cute is that? Stay tuned to see some creations with these goodies! :)

Diggin Out of the Storm of the Decade (or so they say!)

Yep, IT came and went... 13.4" inches of SNOW....This is what the outside of the house looks like now. It was a good one to say the least, although have to admit, as bad as it was here in Madison, it could have been worse. Other places got 21". As you can see I don't have much of a backyard so we don't have much room to pile the snow up. I keep joking to mom and dad they are going to need to buy me a plastic sled, so I can start hauling anymore snow we get to the back yard! LOL!
The storm kept me home yesterday from work. It was just not a good idea to venture out.
Got some goodies to show you tonight....hold on!

I'll have another one tomorrow, we are getting the biggest snow storm of the year, and I'm taking off work (aside from a meeting in the morning - they can call me!).  So I should be able to come up with something new to share...stay tuned! (and I'll let you know what the snowfall total here is in the mad-town!
