Recycled Spring Ribbon Wreath

Note:
If you are here for the Inktegrity Spring Blog Hop,
please scroll down to the next post!
Thank You!

Hello again! Wanted to share a project with you that I created for a KL Stampin N Scrappin' Blog Challenge which was go GO GREEN (Recycle!) I recycled two things on this project! The first thing is the plastic hoop I used to create the spring ribbon wreath door hanger ~ It's an empty Sticky Strip Spool (ya know sticky red tape we love for 3D Projects???) Before I Started stamping, I never would have saved something like that. In fact, I didn't save them much after I started scrapping, but I was getting close to the end of a spool when this challenge came up on the blog. The other item I recycled is the striped grossgrain ribbon. Before moving to their own storage system, Gina K Designs carried the Little Monkey's Storage System. When I went to the store to pick one up (actually I picked up a few over the course of time) this ribbon was wrapped around the packaging & I saved it. I used the colors in this ribbon as a starting point for my ribbon wreath colors. A "close-up" of the tag is shown below, the sentiment is from a Taylored Expressions Set ~ Sweet Spring, which I picked up when I went to CHA last month.

Hope you Enjoy!
Hugs ~ LJ

Inktegrity Blog Hop

Welcome to Inktegrity's Spring Hop!

You probably just visited Tammy's blog. If not, the entire blog hop is listed in order below. This is a celebration of the awesome Design Team and all of you who create with Inktegrity! All of these images that you see on our blogs were created by request of each member. Along the hop, there is a letter for you to collect - no need to unscramble as it is spelled out for you. Simply email the phrase to jonjinko@hotmail.com with the phrase in the subject line and she will email the freebie image to you. In addition, be sure to leave a comment on the Inktegrity blog (the last on this hop) so that you are eligible to win your choice of 5 of these images!!!

Now on to my card and image:

My niece Tavi had her one-year birthday last month, and one of presents was a big red wagon. So when Joni offered to create images for each of the DT Members, I knew I wanted a wagon full of toys just like Tavi's red wagon! I totally LOVE this image!!! This is the image that will be available in the store, but Joni was so sweet in sending me a personalized wagon image with Tavi's name on it that I will share later on a another project. I chose to use this week's Crazy 4 Challenges blog sketch to create my card. I colored the image with a combination of prismacolor and copic markers. The DP and Brads from the Basic Grey Cupcake collections (one of my favorites!) and my primary card stock colors are Gina K Rocking Red, SU! Pacific Point, and SU! Kiwi Kiss. I also used some Pacific Point SU! Ribbon, and the green ribbon was in my scrap bag, so I'm not sure of the vendor.

For this hop, my letter is "O"
Now you can continue on to Melissa's blog to see another special image. Thank you so much for coming by!

So Happy For You!

Hello, another quick post tonight, here's a card I made for two challenges, a paper piecing challenge on StampTV & last Friday's Taylored Expressions Sketch Challenge (#101). I used a new Gina K set designed by Rupa Shevde called "Oh Baby" and had a lot of fun paper-piecing this rocking horse together!

Hope Is Faith

Hello, tonight's card I'm sharing I made for this week's Thursday Sketch Chalenge over on stamptv, using "Hope is Faith" from Gina K Designs. Throughout the month of February, Gina K Designs is donating $2 from each set will go to the Red Cross to support their work they are doing in Haiti to help the residents recover from the earthquake. Since I couldn't fit the sentiment on the front of the card, I designed the inside of the card (below). For my color combination I used Gina K Chocolate Kiss and SU! Crushed Curry. The DP is from Basic Grey's Origins collection. I stamped the butterfly image in chocolate chip, and colored using prismacolor markers, then sponged around the image with Summer Sun and So Saffron ink, after cutting it out with a nestabilites die.

Have a wonderful evening!

A Rock Star Blog Hop ~ For Miss Gabby

Hello,

Along the stamping road I have travelled the last few years, I've gotten to know a lot of wonderful ladies on Splitcoaststampers, some of which I have met and have become dear friends, and those who I have not met, but we just "hit it off" from the beginning and have always been there to hear each others stories of happiness and sorrows. One of those people is Gabby, and she's been having a "rough go" to say the least. Gabby and I "met" on SplitCoast, we soon became good friends. We chat on the swap threads, participate in each others swaps. and she's been an inspiration to me, not only on a stamping level, but on a personal level, with how she has handled all of life's obstacles that has been thrown at her and her family. (With respect to Gabby and her family, I'm not going to go into details here, which I hope you understand).

So today, we are having a "Rock Star" Gabby blog hop! If you have come here from Audrey's blog, you are in the right place (and welcome!) If you haven't started from the beginning and would like to, go check out what the lovely Joni has, including a giveaway of the images Paper Makeup Stamps (PMS) has with proceed's going to Gabby's family. Of course you can always go to PMS yourself, and making a purchase knowing that you are helping a family that's going through some difficult times.

I decided to keep my card for the hop simple, as sometimes in difficult times you need to simplify things, to make things work for you. I chose to use an image from "A Year of Flowers" from Gina K Designs as my main image, which was repeatedly stamped and embossed in black EP. The sentiment is from another Gina K Designs set, flowers for daisy. I created the mats around sentiment with oval nestabilities, added some pretty satin ribbon, and silver brads to each corner.

Next on the the Rock Star Blog Hop for Gabby and her family is Kelli. Please go check what she's done for Gabby.

Hugs to all, especially Gabby and the Arriaza family. I *know* you will get through this, and it will make you a stronger family.

TESC100 - Spring Bird

Hello,

I'm ready for spring how about you? Don't get me wrong, I think snow is really pretty when it falls in those big flakes you want to catch on your tongue, and there's nothing wrong with cozying up in front of the fireplace (which I don't have, but you get the picture!). But I'm ready for bright sunshine, robins, and green grass. With that in mind, and having one of Gina K's new releases (Dream Birds) I got busy tonight with Taylored Expressions 100th Sketch Challenge. It's hard to see from the picture above, but the bird and butterfly are popped up on dimensionals.

So here I have added a close up! :) I don't do many "close-ups" so this is a new learning experience for me in the blogging world.

I made the clouds with a punch out of a SU! Scalloped Circle. I started at the top and sponged bashful blue ink around the top of the scalloped circle and worked my way down the image. I also used the Blossom Nestabilities, which I just got recently. LOVE them!

Hope you enjoy ~ and THINK SPRING!

Tavi's First Birthday

Couldn't help but use some of Tavi's pictures from her first Birthday party for a scrapbook challenge for Gina J. the DSP is new from SEI, called "Happy Day" ~ which I got at a SEI "sneak peek" party @ CHA. (we got to be SEI "crashers" ~ legally *wink*) The birthday hat images in the upper left hand corner are from Melanie's Square Pegs (Gina K Designs) set.

Hugs - LJ
Here's my card for Lee's Sketch Challenge over on SCS for the February Release Challenge :) I've honestly felt like I've been in a "funk" lately, and I think this card broke me out of it. (Just gotta learn to go back to Melanie's Sporty Sets when I have lost my mojo).

Stamps used are all from Gina K Designs:
- Sporty Accessories (Hockey Stick and Puck ~ I shortened the hockey stick to fit it on the Tee)
- Just So Sporty (Tee)
- Little Tee's (I love (heart))

The DP I used was RAK'd to me by Joy (daiseyfreak on SCS). It's by Flair Designs. The Tee was colored with Copic Spica Glitter pens and popped up on dimensionals. Brads, Ribbon, and Cardstock is all SU! I didn't put the three brads on the top right side, just thought it would overwhelm the rest of the card since I had them on the bottom and ribbon on the other side.

Inktegrity ~ Get Crafty!

Hello!

It's release day over at Inktegrity! And this little crafty girl is today's release, isn't she cute? I used some of my Sweet Pea DSP from the SU! Occasions Mini Catalog to paper piece her dress. I haven't done much paper piecing with digital images so I'm loving how she turned out.

Happy Monday!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Here's a card I made for one of this month's Gina K Release Party challenges, which was to use three or more buttons on your project. I inked up the bug image from the Heartily Yours stamp set, and then added some buttons to the wheels, and also some buttons down the the side of the card. The pattern paper is retired from SU (Loves Me).

Happy Valentine's Day!

Hugs ~ LJ

PS. Tomorrow will have another new Inktegrity digital image to share with you!

Super Bowl Sunday

Hi all, ok so this doesn't exactly represent either of the two teams in the Super Bowl today, but I think the big game should be a celebration of professional football in general so I'm posting my Happy Packer Snowman card up for the game. Even if you don't care for the Packers, ya gotta admit these images from Peechy Keen Stamps are just adorable. I'm all set for the game here, and no, I don't exactly have a grill sitting out on the patio with a bratwurst on here like this cute guy does, but the munchies are almost ready, and I'm ready to watch some football.

Since I'm not a fan of either the Saints or the Colts, I was really open-minded, but some of us in Jeanette's Enchanted Forest Swap on SCS have decided to root for the COLTS, just based on the fact that their quarterback Peyton Manning is a cutie! LOL! So on that note, with beverage of choice in hand.....

GO COLTS!!!

Hugs always ~ LJ

New Purse.....Sorta....

Hello! Happy Friday! I thought I would share a few of my swap cards/ABACs I have been working on over the weekend. This card was made for Tracey's Top Note Swap. I took the Top Note Die and used some DP to make a purse to go on the front of a card. I just folded it at about 2/3 to the top, and cut off the very little excess from the back side that was showing. The sentiment is from a retired SU! Set, called First in Fashion. The DP is also retired from SU! (Hawaii Papaya).

Have a great day!

MOJO Monday - Heartily Yours

Hello! Here is my card for this week's MOJO Monday Sketch, using the Gina K Set Heartily Yours. I colored the image with SU! Markers and then stamped it on the white card stock. I love using this technique with bold images that have a lot of "elements" like this flower stamp.

Have a Terrific Thursday!

Inktegrity ~ Love Bug

It's day 3 of the February Inktegrity Releases, and I'm super excited to share this image with you today! This one is Love Bug. There is so much you can do with this image to make it all cute and adorable. The "lady" bug is all glamoured up with pink K&CO Bling for her eyes and headlights. I used a spica glitter pen to outline the wheels on both cards to give it a little more sparkle (hard to see in the picture ~ sorry!)

If you love this image, as well as the other two images that were released this month, you can go check them out at Joni's Inktegrity Store.

Have a wonderful Wednesday!

Inktegrity ~ BEEP BEEP!

Hello and happy Terrific Tuesday, and Day #2 for the new Inktegrity releases! If you haven't noticed, this months releases all have a common theme, wheels! This is Emmitt's Jeep. :) It's the perfect image for a hip boy's birthday card which is what I did above! My primary colors are Only Orange, Tempting Turquoise, and Green Galore. The headlights are Basic Grey Brads. Not sure where the ribbon is from, I have a bag full of ribbon scraps I'm trying to use up!

Hope you enjoy, and have a super day! There will be one more adorable image tomorrow, and I can't wait to *bug* you all with it! Tee-Hee!

Inktegrity ~ Bella's Truck

Hello!

This is one of the adorable images for the February Inktegrity Release, Bella's Truck. There are actually two bella trucks (one of which I will share later) but when I saw this one with the back end empty I knew It would look just adorable with a pile of valentine buttons just stacked up!

I colored the image with prismacolor markers, and then used a rub-on for the sentiment. I love white rub-ons because they show up so nicely on darker DP and cardstock!

More tomorrow! Gotta go Vrrrrrooom!
