Going to Rio!

Hello Hello

It's the 15th of the month (really - where did summer go? It's already August) and the Divas and Darlings hostess this month have come up with a fantastic Olympic Themed kit to play with. I had such a fun time playing with this kit over the weekend, as it is the first card I have made in nearly three weeks (foot surgery has kept me away from my crafty business).

The adorable image on the front of the card is a digi from Scrappin Doodles. The owner of the company graciously gave Judy permission to use these digis for our duel this month, so I invite you to check them out :) I don't normally use digi images myself, but these cute kids are giving me second thoughts.

In addition to the images, there was some beautiful patterned and solid colored paper, ribbons, brads, sequins, and Olympic Ring die-cuts, some of which was used on my card which measures 5.5" Square.

Here is the inside of my card (the sentiment was created by Judy) I colored it in with a red spica pen.

Our additional challenge is to share our favorite Olympic Event. I can't pick just one actually :)  My favorites are swimming, gymnastics, and beach volleyball. My niece has been active in swimming and gymnastics but those two have always been favorites. My favorite sport, baseball, is returning for the 2020 Olympic games in Tokyo and I am really excited about that!

Thanks so much for stopping by - Hugs ~ LJ

SCS Swap - In The Forest

Hello ~ Hello

Thanks for stopping by! My card for today is for Jeanette's Forest Swap on SCS. The theme for this Forest (as there always is one) is "Who's In The Forest?". We were to create a card (actually 6 of the them that says something about you. My choice was easy, as i am a huge sports fan! I chose to use adorable basketball Riley, as he has not been seeing any ink yet (Forgotten Stamp Friday Challenge) and I am trying to get a season Basketball ticket for the Wisconsin Badgers this fall (fingers crossed on that one!). I really don't follow the NBA much, but I love college basketball!

Have a wonderful day!

MFTWSC20 - Give It A Shot!

Hello ~ here is my card for MFTWSC20. I so love the PI "I Get a Kick Out of You". It's totally right up my alley since I am a little bit of s sports nut... :) I used the MFT Open Scallop Die-Namic & DP from MME (Lime Twist - Fly A Kite Collection). The PI girls' outfit and basketball was paper-pieced.

Thanks for looking!

MFT Super Stars........

Hello  Everyone,

Bear with me, on this one, as it has a few pictures :)  This past week's challenge for MFT over on SCS was a Super Star Challenge. I had this idea, as soon as saw the previews a few months ago for these cute Sporty PI images, but wanted to wait for the "appropriate" theme to make it for. Aside from the coloring, which i did a few weeks ago, I put this together tonight in about 2 hours. :)

So since it's a Super Star theme, I thought there would be no better way to showcase off my favorite NFL Football Conference. the NFC North. The Cookie Sheet is 15X11. Colored in the images, and created magnets out of them. They are currently in the standings for week #2 which just finished up (notice where my Packers are??? 2-0!!! YEA!)  The footballs (also magnetic) represent the # of wins (left side) and # of losses (right side). When I originally thought of this idea, I was planning to use some die cut numbers for the standings, then I saw the little football image in the PI Football Boy set and thought those would be cute for standings. More on the left side for the Packers, the better! LOL!

The star punches on the right are from SU. I did the stars and the NFC North Lettering in NFC North Colors too. The green background DP that looks like grass/turf is from Creative Memories (got it LOOONG time ago). Hope you enjoy! :)

More details:

Close up of the football and cheerleader images
(these sets work soooo good together!)

Here you can see the magnets, which is actually recycled duplicate
magnetic schedules I had from some Badger sports last year.
I simply ran it through my Xyron with a magnetic
cartridge and punched 1/2" circles.  Super easy and cheap!!!

Since these are magnetic, they are really easy
to move around on the board, the Packer Cheerleader always
has to be on top right??? RIGHT! :)

And of course next Monday night (9/27) I hope to see this
a lot during the Bears/Packers game :) LOL!

And well, I guess the Detroit Lions Cheerleader
decided the Vikings players were cuter..... :)

Fav Hobby Swap

Football anyone? Fall is my favorite time of the year, cooler weather, less humidity, pretty trees full of oranges, browns, and reds, and of course, football season. Badger season started last Saturday (with a big "W") and the Packers officially start Sunday.....so it's probably no shock I made a football-themed card for Barb's My Favorite Hobby Swap on SCS ~ decided to keep the colors "neutral" for the most part.

Recipe:
Stamps: Hampton Arts, CTMH
Paper: Riding Hood Red, Soft Suede, Chocolate Kiss (GKD), Soft Sand (GKD)
Ink: Soft Suede, Chocolate Chip
Access: Expresso Ribbon, Black Brads. Classic Labels Punch, Pop Dots

Here's my card for Lee's Sketch Challenge over on SCS for the February Release Challenge :) I've honestly felt like I've been in a "funk" lately, and I think this card broke me out of it. (Just gotta learn to go back to Melanie's Sporty Sets when I have lost my mojo).

Stamps used are all from Gina K Designs:
- Sporty Accessories (Hockey Stick and Puck ~ I shortened the hockey stick to fit it on the Tee)
- Just So Sporty (Tee)
- Little Tee's (I love (heart))

The DP I used was RAK'd to me by Joy (daiseyfreak on SCS). It's by Flair Designs. The Tee was colored with Copic Spica Glitter pens and popped up on dimensionals. Brads, Ribbon, and Cardstock is all SU! I didn't put the three brads on the top right side, just thought it would overwhelm the rest of the card since I had them on the bottom and ribbon on the other side.

and more Ian....

Here's another TGF 12 Days of Sketches Card, Football Ian! He's all ready for bowl season! I love the designer paper with the little footballs on it, I found it at Archiver's a few months ago. It's from Got Moxxie and it's from the Grid-Iron line. I just think the distressed look is so cool! :) Totally rugged like football should be!

Back with more tomorrow!

Posting again....

Hello, I'm back to posting (hopefully more often once again) I was on vacation for 2 weeks on the East Coast with my friend Scott. We had wonderful time going to baseball games, seeing new sights in big cities, etc. It was hard to go back to work yesterday, and now I'm finding myself tired earlier in the evening than I am used to.

Anyways, I thought I would share a card I have made for a swap since getting back. Back in July, I flew to Columbus, Ohio for a shoebox swap & to spend the weekend with a bunch of ladies I met through SCS. One of the things we all did a lot of was stamp images of stamps that we all brought along. After we got home with all of our newly stamped images, Jackie (AKA Babitoons on SCS) decided to host a "use those images swap". So this is what I came up with. I used Football Ian from The Greeting Farm. I did use my Badger Colors, but I kept it non-badger themed so that whoever got these would be able to use them (wouldn't it be cute for a little boy's birthday card?) The DSP is from an older SU Prints Pack. The Ribbon I got from Hobby Lobby (their brand).

Thanks for looking! :) Hopefully this will get me back into posting more often again!
