Merry Christmas

Hello ~ Hello

I had some time this morning to play with this week's Sweet Sunday Sketch and this is what I came up with. The only stamping on this card is the sentiment (A*Muse)  The tree is a layered sticker (yes I did stay sticker!) from My Mind's Eye (12 Days of Christmas). I'm becoming addicted to dimensional/3d stickers, as they make quick card making very easy! The tree is layered on some patterned paper from October Afternoon (Good Cheer). which is where all of the patterned paper is from. The white shimmer die is from spellbinders. Ribbon is from stamping up, and I made the fishtail banner (no die) The sentiment was stamped in Cherry Cobbler on PTI White,  punched out with the SU! large oval punch, and then layered on the SU! scallop oval piece. The ribbon (Kiwi Kiss) is from SU!

Thanks for stopping by today! Merry Christmas ~ it's almost here!

Sweet Holiday Wishes

Hello ~ Hello

It's getting closer to that big day!  I'm just about ready, just need to get some good sleeps in before it all starts up and I will be ready to roll.

I have to pull out my Inky Antics stamps every Christmas season. The Sweety Snowman collection is just adorable. Inky Antics has a booth every year at a Madison Stamp and Craft Show in November that I try to get to. It's the weekend before Thanksgiving. This cute guy and sentiment is from Sweety Snowman #1  I used some patterned paper from Crate Paper's Peppermint Collection. I was inspired by this card created by Sankari which is posted in the Taylored Expessions Gallery.  Love the sketch, and LOVE all those rounded corners! My corner rounder punch has once again found a spot on my crafting desk.....

This card is being entered for the following challenges

A Merry Little Box

Hello ~ Hello

I hope you are having a good week so far. I finished my Christmas shopping last night ~ It was not too busy when I got there right after work, and after I was done, I had a yummy hot chocolate from Starbucks and watched everyone else hurry with their shopping for awhile and listen to the christmas music piping from the mall.......Santa had quite the line ~ looks like a lot of kids have been good this year. :-)

For today's post I am sharing a little 3X3 Box I created over the weekend. I used the tutorial posted here on SCS. The tutorial is listed as a notecard box, but with the size it is, it's also perfect for smaller gifts without the notecards on the inside, which is what I am planning to use this for......all the patterned papers are from October Afternoon's (OA) Good Cheer Collection (older - I found some other posts from 2008 that used this collection - it's new to me!) .  The sentiment is from OA's Holiday Style Flower Sack A couple of weeks ago I purchased one of the OA Santa Sacks. It was a great box of fun to open, as it was a huge assortment of OA goodies ~ from many different collections, including some of the new ones. The tree is just a triangle cut from one of the sheets of DP. I used one of the spellbinders label dies to create the tag. I didn't use any stamps on this box/tag combo. The ribbon is from SU!

Thanks for stopping by!

SFYTT December

Hello ~ Hello

Here's my card for the December Sketch For You To Try Challenge. I ended up getting 11 out of 12 monthly challenges done. The month I missed was July, which is the month I moved. Wish I could be one of the lucky ones to be entered for the drawing! I will be trying again next year if Jen decides to do this again in 2012 (and I can pretty much guarantee I won't be moving ~ I *love* my place & still working on it to make it "my own")

All of my papers for this card are from Graphic 45 (Christmas Past) The sentiment from an A*Muse set is stamped in Riding Hood Red on PTI Craft. I also used a Dizzy Dolly Die-namic Die from MFT. The card size is 5.5" square. The buttons are all from Basic Grey (so love their buttons n brads)

Thanks for stopping by! Hugs  ~ LJ

Tag Swap

Hello ~ Hello

I forgot to post these cute tags that I created for Kate's Holiday Tags Swap on SCS. I used a set from Paper Trey Ink - Candy Cane Christmas. I picked up the manilla tags while I was in Arizona at a LSS called the Frenzy Stamper. If you are ever in the metro-Phoenix area it's a must see for crafters.....Lots of fun goodies. My friend Scott knows that whenever we go to Arizona we have to make time for this place. The patterned paper is retired from SU! I also used the coordinating dies that go with this PTI Set. So glad I got them because I pretty much use them all the time with this set.

Have a wonderful day!

Stamp TV Challenge

Hello ~ Hello

I decided tonight to play along with a Gina K Designs StampTV challenge that Lee posted on the StampTV Facebook page which was to use gingham on your card/project. I quickly pulled out this cute lil' snowman from Gina K - Warm Winter designed by Carolyn King.

And the saying goes, "Mistakes are the portals of discovery." - James Joyce (1882-1941). Or something like that.......

I'm only saying it because, the glitter was not supposed to happen....It was just supposed to be some clear sparkle pen and I accidentally grabbed a Quickie Glue pen. So then the Iridescent Ice EP came out, along with my heat gun (which honestly I have been avoiding since embossing 125 wedding invitations, perhaps it will stay out now)

That being said, I'm pretty happy with how it ended. And now I have a new use for the Quickie Glue Pen, other than to use it to adhere small pieces. :)

I paper pieced the heart with some of the gingham patterned paper (which is from a summer collection, the other side is black gingham - think picnic tables...) The red gingham and gold-lined green ribbon are both from Gina K Designs. The scalloped die at the bottom is from My Favorite Things (MFT) I added 3 blings to the upper right hand corner...

Below is a close-up picture of my little mistake..... :) I do think it sparkles quite well.....

Thanks for stopping by tonight!
