Monthly Duel - Out of This world!

Hello Hello!

It's the 15th of the month so it's time to have another Dueling Darlings Duel! Terry S is the hostess of the Dazzlers and I am the hostess of the Divas this month! We chose a theme of "Out of this World".

I sent the Divas the following kit contents and I can't wait to see what they make:

Stamps: Rocket Age (October Afternoon)
Patterned Paper: Doodle Bug Designs
Accessories: Red, Blue, Yellow Ribbon, silver stars (Tim Holtz), gemstones (Michaels), buttons (stampin up)

I decorated the inside of my card too (sorry for the shadows)

Thanks for stopping by today! Hugs ~ LJ

FMS #369 - A is for Astronaut

Hello Hello

Today I want to share a card for a new swap I have joined in 2019 called the A to Z swap on Splitcoast Stampers (SCS). We start at the beginning of the year, and make two cards per month using the letters of the alphabet to pick our theme/subject! Also the 2 cards we create each month are sent to another participant, so in January I will receive 2 cards ("A" and "B") from Emily and I will send my two A & B Cards to another person! So it's kind of like a "Round Robin". At the end of the 2019 I will have an entire alphabet of cards from 12 other swappers. Since there are 26 letters there will be 2 months were we make and swap 3 "letter" cards.

Anyway - on to my card. I chose the word "Astronaut". so that I could use my cute space-themed set from Lawn Fawn and one of my favorite paper collections - Rocket Age from October Afternoon! I used this weeks' sketch from Freshly Made Sketches for inspiration (sketch below)
As always, thanks for stopping by! Hugs ~LJ

Silent Night Album

Hello Hello ~

Today I am sharing a Waterfall Folio Album I made using the October Afternoon Silent Night Collection.  I had purchased the 12X12 pack from Two Peas when they went out of business (loved that web-store) I found this amazing tutorial on Pinterest and decided to try it out last night. The extras I used were the 12X12 Cardstock stickers and the Chip-N-Stick Stickers.  The only modification I made was to add some Washi Tape to the bind, just to give it a little more support.

Here is the inside of the folio:

I think I will make a few more of these, before the holidays.

Let's Celebrate YOU

Hello ~ Hello!

I hope you are enjoying your Monday! The weather is finally gorgeous here - after a week of dreariness and quite a bit of rain.

Just popping in with my card for this week's MFT Sketch (#126). I love this Birthday Girl PI and when I recently got the October Afternoon 8X8 Cakewalk pad I knew it would be a perfect match.

Fun Times

Hello ~
Last weeks' October Afternoon Sketch challenge was the perfect opportunity for me to use some left over Farm Girl Scraps from a previous project. In addition to the OA patterned paper, I used an OA Sidewalks Chip-N-Stick image (boy on bike) and a couple of pieces from the OA Sidewalks Flower Sack. The button is from OA as well (Farm Girl)

Thanks for stopping by! Hugs ~ LJ

FYI - Here's the sketch:

Smile

Hello ~ Hello

I have had a BUSY week, which is why I have not been posting the last couple of days! This will be a short post today :)

Today's card was created with a cute lil stamp set my mom purchased recently. Love the camera and sentiment. The patterned papers are from October Afternoon (Boarding Pass Collection) and I also used some new twine/fibers I got recently. The brads are from SU! I think.

Thanks for stopping by ~

Happy Birthday Tavi!

Today is Tavi Pearl's 3rd Birthday.....Woo-Hoo! This is the card I made for her which I gave to her Saturday at her Birthday party. We had such a fun time! All supplies except card stock are from October Afternoon. Their flower sacks are so much fun!

It's hard to believe this little blessing in my life is THREE years old already ~ where does the time go? .....I still remember the very day she was born:

Her first birthday.......

Her second birthday (this taken the morning of)

And every little moment in between......

Thank you for going down memory lane with me today......... Hugs ~ LJ

A Merry Little Box

Hello ~ Hello

I hope you are having a good week so far. I finished my Christmas shopping last night ~ It was not too busy when I got there right after work, and after I was done, I had a yummy hot chocolate from Starbucks and watched everyone else hurry with their shopping for awhile and listen to the christmas music piping from the mall.......Santa had quite the line ~ looks like a lot of kids have been good this year. :-)

For today's post I am sharing a little 3X3 Box I created over the weekend. I used the tutorial posted here on SCS. The tutorial is listed as a notecard box, but with the size it is, it's also perfect for smaller gifts without the notecards on the inside, which is what I am planning to use this for......all the patterned papers are from October Afternoon's (OA) Good Cheer Collection (older - I found some other posts from 2008 that used this collection - it's new to me!) .  The sentiment is from OA's Holiday Style Flower Sack A couple of weeks ago I purchased one of the OA Santa Sacks. It was a great box of fun to open, as it was a huge assortment of OA goodies ~ from many different collections, including some of the new ones. The tree is just a triangle cut from one of the sheets of DP. I used one of the spellbinders label dies to create the tag. I didn't use any stamps on this box/tag combo. The ribbon is from SU!

Thanks for stopping by!

Cops 4 KIds Swap - Spot #1

Hello ~ Hello

Trying to get a few swaps (and blog posts) done before I depart for Sunny AZ. :) Although we have had a milder fall than normal for us, getting back to the ballpark for some good Arizona Fall League baseball is so relaxing for me. It's a fun developmental league for some of the best prospects in all of baseball. My friend and I went last year and had an awsome time, and really can't wait to go back. Once we get there we will be traveling and watching games with mostly people that we know from prior tours, and it's a small group (8 or 9 including us and the escort).

Anyhow, I do have a card to share tonight, actually six of them if you look closely at the picture. :) These are my birthday child cards for Kelli's Cops 4 Kids Swap.  Here are a few words regarding Cops 4 Kids from Kelli's SCS thread:

Each year I donate cards that I have received back in swaps to my works auction. The money goes to support the Olympia Cops 4 Kids Foundation. It's a non profit organization and it allows the boys and girls in blue to make a valued connection with the public that is in a positive light. Christmas shopping, school clothes/supplies shopping etc...

I personally love doing these kind of swaps. It allows me to create and share with another community I normally don't interact with (Olympia Washington). Most swaps are 5+1 meaning, you make six of the same card, send them to a hostess and you get 5 different cards back made by other people. This is how this swap is "operating" ~ with the +1 going to Cops 4 Kids.  As some others are doing in this swap, I am donating all of my cards to the cause. I love my swap returns don't get me wrong, they are so much happier than seeing a bill come in the mail. But I love sharing with others more when it's a good cause! :-)

The cards were created with SU! Cardstock, SU! Jersey Shore DSP (retired ~ and one of my faves) and I colored in an image from October Afternoon Rocket Age. I love this entire collection. It's just boy happy.... I used the sketch from  I {heart} 2 stamp's October 2011 SFYTT (Sketch For You To Try). Ya'll got a few more days left in the month to try this sketch out - it's gonna quickly be a go-to sketch for me.

Thanks so much for stopping by today ~
