MFTWSC44

Hello~Hello

Thanks so much for stopping by today. Haven't posted much lately as I was vacationing in sunny Arizona last week. Wonderful trip (pictures to share later ~ just need to go through them all).

I'm not totally ready for winter, especially after just warming up in the southwestern sun, but I need to get a head start on some Christmas cards and projects. I came up with this for the latest MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge over on SCS. The stamps I used are from MFT (Pure Innocence Snow Day - so adorable!) I used Cherry Cobbler, Old Olive, PTI Vintage Cream and PTI Kraft for my card-stock colors. I usually use PTI White on most of my cards, but I thought I should try some off-white colors for a change. :) I also used lots of patterned paper from the Basic Grey Wassail collection (6X6 pack), MFT Jumbo Scallop Dienamics, Oval & Scalloped Spellbinders, and a couple of SU! Punches with the sentiment, which was stamped in Cherry Cobbler. The image was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black and colored in with copics/prismacolor markers. I also used a silver brad, and some Riding Hood Red SU! Ribbon. The card base is 4.75" square.

Have a great day ~ Hugs ~ LJ

Cops 4 KIds Swap - Spot #1

Hello ~ Hello

Trying to get a few swaps (and blog posts) done before I depart for Sunny AZ. :) Although we have had a milder fall than normal for us, getting back to the ballpark for some good Arizona Fall League baseball is so relaxing for me. It's a fun developmental league for some of the best prospects in all of baseball. My friend and I went last year and had an awsome time, and really can't wait to go back. Once we get there we will be traveling and watching games with mostly people that we know from prior tours, and it's a small group (8 or 9 including us and the escort).

Anyhow, I do have a card to share tonight, actually six of them if you look closely at the picture. :) These are my birthday child cards for Kelli's Cops 4 Kids Swap.  Here are a few words regarding Cops 4 Kids from Kelli's SCS thread:

Each year I donate cards that I have received back in swaps to my works auction. The money goes to support the Olympia Cops 4 Kids Foundation. It's a non profit organization and it allows the boys and girls in blue to make a valued connection with the public that is in a positive light. Christmas shopping, school clothes/supplies shopping etc...

I personally love doing these kind of swaps. It allows me to create and share with another community I normally don't interact with (Olympia Washington). Most swaps are 5+1 meaning, you make six of the same card, send them to a hostess and you get 5 different cards back made by other people. This is how this swap is "operating" ~ with the +1 going to Cops 4 Kids.  As some others are doing in this swap, I am donating all of my cards to the cause. I love my swap returns don't get me wrong, they are so much happier than seeing a bill come in the mail. But I love sharing with others more when it's a good cause! :-)

The cards were created with SU! Cardstock, SU! Jersey Shore DSP (retired ~ and one of my faves) and I colored in an image from October Afternoon Rocket Age. I love this entire collection. It's just boy happy.... I used the sketch from  I {heart} 2 stamp's October 2011 SFYTT (Sketch For You To Try). Ya'll got a few more days left in the month to try this sketch out - it's gonna quickly be a go-to sketch for me.

Thanks so much for stopping by today ~

Taylored Expressions Blog Hop!

Hello ~ Hello

It's time for this month's Taylored Expressions Blast The Past Blog Hop! So glad you could hop on by today.  This month's theme is Trick or Sweet and I created candy box with a matching card for the challenge! I used some older Halloween Patterned Paper from K&CO on both of my projects. The candy box was created with a SU! Top Note die. The image is from the adorable Trick or Sweet set from Taylored Expressions. I especially love these Pumpkin Cuppies! My card is based off of Jen's October Sketch For You To Try. I have another card to share later this week for this challenge as well!

Below are a few more pictures of the card and box individually, I had SO much fun creating these!

Fall Harvest (Dueling Divas)

Hello~Hello

Can you believe it's the 15th of October already? I don't even want to think about how close we are to the holiday season........I have not started my holiday shopping yet. So if it's the 15th of the month, it's time for another Duel. Our lovely hostess this month for the Divas is Tami and our theme is Fall Harvest. Tami sent us an amazing kit, I so love this image from "Sweet Season" (Stampin Up!)

As part of the challenge, Tami invited us to share a fall recipe. Unfortunately, my creativity does not get into the kitchen, so I don't have a good recipe to share this time around. :( Sorry.

I hope you enjoyed my post for today, Please check out the other Darling Diva's as well ~ to see what they have on their blog waiting for you:

Judy, Barb, Laura Jean (me) Judy, Jamie, Kelly Joan and Carol

you can start here, at Jeanette's blog for our friendly duel ~

I have had this set a long time, always love pulling it out because the leaf images are so beautiful and detailed. I used a corner rounder on the bottom of the card & also some SU! Twine.

Z-Fold Card Challenge

Hello~Hello

Quick post today, last week's technique challenge on SCS was a  double z-fold card. I love interesting folds, so I decided to give this one a try. I used mainly SU! supplies on this card, the bird punch is from Martha Stewart.  The sentiment on the outside is from Very Versatile (retired SU!) and on the inside (see below) I used a tree image from KaiserCraft (Hey Birdie Collection).

Thanks for stopping by today

MOJO209 - Trick or Treat!

Hello~Hello

This card was created for MOJO Monday Sketch 209.  I don't have many halloween cards made up, so I need to get busy! :) The sentiment is from Inkadinkado, and I sponged it with pumpkin pie ink. The patterned paper is from Basic Grey - Eeerie Collection and I also used some Basic Grey Brads. The border punch is from Martha Steward (Icicle - but looks kind of halloweenie on it's side if you ask me!)

Hardly feels like October here, my A/C has been on today - 80+ in south-central Wisconsin, certainly not complaining. :)

Back to the Brewers game (and Packers later on)......I'm feeling pizza delivery tonight, how about you??
