November Duel - Hoot Hoot Hooray

Hello Hello!

Were flying through November and it's the 15th of the Month already so it's time for our Monthly Duel between the Divas and Darlings. Heather sent the Divas (including myself) this fun Owl-themed kit using Hoot Hoot Hooray from Taylored Expressions. I think I may have to get this adorable set for myself! Our theme is Owls, just because as Heather says "Are Super Adorable!" and I have to agree!

One of my new years resolutions for 2020 is going to be using up more of my DD Kits each month - minimizing the leftovers that go into my stash. :) So I am starting that resolution early this month - as I have three cards to share! :-)

The other two Owl cards are below, aside from the card stock, everything used came from Heather's kit.

For My Teacher (TMS454)

Hello Hello

Today I am sharing a card I made for this week's Tuesday Morning Sketch (#454)  The sketch is at the bottom of this blog post if you would like to see it. I used an older Taylored Expressions set that has since been retired, Mischief Maker Back to School. She is stamped on Gina K White with Gina K K Black Amalgam ink.  I absolutely love this ink. It's "friendly" with nearly every coloring medium I have, and it stamps so crisp (regardless of the type or brand of stamp I use). I colored the image with prismacolor markers, and then added an sentiment (stamped in SU! Real Red). The pattern paper is from October Afternoon (School Days Collection - this was one of their first collections).

I am a bit of an OA (October Afternoon) addict, but I am trying to use stuff I love instead of hoard it :)  I so miss not having any new releases from them anymore, but maybe that's a good thing, as it keeps my checking account on the positive side :)

Freshly Made Sketches

Hello Hello -

Sharing a card I created today for the latest Freshly Made Sketch Challenge  This card is really simple for me - I usually use many more layers than this, but I really love the simplicity of the design.

Ink: Basic Black, Pool Party (sponged background)
Paper: Recollections white, Basic Grey Fiction 6X6 Pad (I am going to sooo miss Basic Grey!)
Pink Bling,  Circle Spellbinders, coordinating dies for stamp set, copics, sponge,  label die from MFT.

Thanks for stopping by! Hugs - LJ

TESC ~ Farm Fun!

Hello ~ Hello ~

This is my second post for the day :) I couldn't wait to share my card for the latest Taylored Expressions Sketch Challenge. "Udderly Sweet" is one of my favorite TESC Sets. Most crafters have a love or hate relationship with cuppie stamps - mine is all LOVE!

The image is stamped with memento tuxedo black on PTI White and colored in with markers. I then framed the white oval on a Real Red Oval.  I normally color my cuppies with prismacolor PM-7 Magenta and then use the colorless blender pen to lighten up the middle of the face. I started with prismacolors when I first started coloring images (actually I was a SU! Marker person first) and then gradually bought some Copics. I use both in my coloring now, but to be honest I like the "feel" of Prismacolors better. I feel like I can control the color and blend colors better with those.

All of the patterned paper is from October Afternoon. I used a Jumbo Scalloped MFT Die-namic at the bottom. The red ribbon is from SU! Not sure where the red bling is from. I just have a little bling drawer and keep all the sheets in there. :) I left the inside blank so I can customize the sentiment for whenever I need the card. The other card stock (Lemon Drop & Green Apple) is from Gina K Designs (the Real Red is from SU!)

Thanks for stopping by, the sketch is below. Hugs ~ LJ

Taylored Expressions Blog Hop!

Hello ~ Hello

It's time for this month's Taylored Expressions Blast The Past Blog Hop! So glad you could hop on by today.  This month's theme is Trick or Sweet and I created candy box with a matching card for the challenge! I used some older Halloween Patterned Paper from K&CO on both of my projects. The candy box was created with a SU! Top Note die. The image is from the adorable Trick or Sweet set from Taylored Expressions. I especially love these Pumpkin Cuppies! My card is based off of Jen's October Sketch For You To Try. I have another card to share later this week for this challenge as well!

Below are a few more pictures of the card and box individually, I had SO much fun creating these!

Feelin Groovy

div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

Hello ~ Hello ~

Today I am participating in the monthly Taylored Expressions Blast From the Past Customer Blog Hop!  Here is this month's theme:

" The theme for our August hop is "Collectors Anonymous". We all have those precious ribbons and embellishments that we like to hoard, right? Maybe it's because they're hard to find, expensive, or just too pretty to use. Well, it's time to get them out of storage and onto a card! "

I tend to hoard my pretty corduroy brads. They aren't something I go grabbing for usually when I create a card. When I first purchased a couple of colors, I put them in to some clear shot glasses for decoration only. :-) they looked so pretty in them I didn't want to take them out and use them. So I used 3 of those on my card. I also used the super cute and retro TE Set - Feelin Groovy with some Basic Grey Hopscotch Patterned Paper. I also used the fun sketch Sankari came up with for inspiration. :)

TESC 143 - Keep Plowing

Hello ~

Thanks for stopping by today. I feel like I am finally "adjusting" to my new home. So much more space than I had before, and I have been "plowing" through boxes the last week, unpacking and getting settled in. I even found some stamping time today to play with the latest Taylored Expressions Sketch. I used one of my favorite TE Sets, Udderly Sweet. The patterned pattern paper is from the Fly A Kite Collection (My Minds Eye - Lime Twist)  I used SU! Brads on the corners, and the ribbon I got from my friend Michele

Below is a shot of the inside of my card, which is also decorated with more of the same patterned paper

Have a great rest of the weekend!

Hay There!

Here's my card for TESC 138 (Taylored Expressions Sketch Challenge #138. I used one of my favorite TE Stamp Sets - Udderly Sweet! I used the haystack ends of the image to "extend" the focal image out the ends of the card. The cute farmer cuppie is popped up. I used pattern paper from the October Afternoon Garden Variety Collection (love veggies with smiley faces on them!). My primary cardstock colors are Garden Green and Crushed Curry. I also used Basic Grey Brads & the SU! Scalloped Edge Punch. The tag with the sentiment is hand-created as I wanted something with a "tail".

Pardon the poor photography, not much natural light at 9:30 PM .....But I wanted to share this tonight....I'm thinking maybe I need to get my dummies book out and learn about my camera some more this summer. :-)  So many "gadgets" with the camera I have (Canon EOS Rebel XSI) that i have not figured out yet....and I have had it for over a year now.....Gee whiz!

Thanks for stopping by ~

Hippity Hoppity

Hello Friends ~

I decided to get out my Sweet Spring Set from Taylored Expressions and play along with the most recent sketch challenge being hosted on SCS....When I was creating this card, a song got stuck in my head, so I am sharing that with you as well (wondering if Miss Tavi knows this one yet?? She probably does... *grin*). Learned something new while looking this one up, I didn't know it was originally performed by Gene Autry....How cool is that? Not bad for a cowboy-turned baseball owner.. :)

Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the tune...... :) Sing along with me....

Here comes Peter Cottontail,
Hoppin' down the bunny trail,
Hippity, hoppity,
Easter's on its way.
Bringing every girl and boy
baskets full of Easter joy,
Things to make your Easter bright and gay.
He's got jelly beans for Tommy,
Colored eggs for sister Sue,
There's an orchid for your Mommy
And an Easter bonnet, too.
Oh! Here comes Peter Cottontail,
Hoppin' down the bunny trail,
Hippity hoppity,
Happy Easter day.
Here comes Peter Cottontail,
Hoppin' down the bunny trail,
Look at him stop, and listen to him say:
"Try to do the things you should."
Maybe if you're extra good,
He'll roll lots of Easter eggs your way.
You'll wake up on Easter morning
And you'll know that he was there
When you find those chocolate bunnies
That he's hiding everywhere.
Oh! here comes Peter Cottontail,
Hoppin' down the bunny trail,
Hippity hoppity,
Happy Easter day!

TESC 129 - Keep Plowin'

Good Evening! Happy Friday!

Here is my card for today's Taylored Expressions Friday Sketch Challenge. I used an image and sentiment from TE's Udderly Sweet stamp set. I picked this up at Summer CHA and it's the first time I have used it. It's so cute! I used Garden Green, Really Rust and Close to Cocoa for my cardstock colors the DP and ribbon are both from SU!. The brads are from Basic Grey, and I used my scallop MFT Dienamics for the Cocoa panel.

I'm so ready for fall weather ~ the leaves are starting to change color in Southern Wisconsin and it's some of the trees are really beautiful!  Have a great rest of your  Friday!

Haunted Cuppie

Good Evening,

I'm back to sporadic posting again (sigh!). Couldn't wait though to use a new MS iron gate border punch I found over the weekend at a LSS and make card with one of Taylor's Halloween Cuppies. Just love how this cute little witch is just walking down the street with all the bats flying around. I'm not a big halloween person, but I love halloween paper and embellishments!

Taylored Expressions Blog Hop

Hello,

I participating in today's Taylored Expressions Blog Hop! I loved the first hop and was so excited to get to play in this month's hop. I'm going with a "Winter In July" theme this time, using TE's Home Sweet Home.  This was my first TE set and it's still my favorite!  I just LOVE the gingerbread house image, and all the cute sentiments. I have to admit, it was kind of fun pulling out my Winter/Christmas themed DP and looking through it all. It's only Five Months + 5 days away.

I love all the layers with this card ~ the sketch I used is from this week's Mojo Monday Sketch. Just so many options with this sketch!

Be sure to check out what the rest of the blog hoppers are showcasing ~ can't wait to check them out later myself

Hugs ~ LJ
