Taylored Expressions Blog Hop

Hello,

I participating in today's Taylored Expressions Blog Hop! I loved the first hop and was so excited to get to play in this month's hop. I'm going with a "Winter In July" theme this time, using TE's Home Sweet Home.  This was my first TE set and it's still my favorite!  I just LOVE the gingerbread house image, and all the cute sentiments. I have to admit, it was kind of fun pulling out my Winter/Christmas themed DP and looking through it all. It's only Five Months + 5 days away.

I love all the layers with this card ~ the sketch I used is from this week's Mojo Monday Sketch. Just so many options with this sketch!

Be sure to check out what the rest of the blog hoppers are showcasing ~ can't wait to check them out later myself

MFT Swap #3

Hello,

After spending the afternoon with my wonderful family (thank you for all the birthday love, wishes and prezzies! love you all more than you will ever know!)  I got home, turned the A/C on, and finished my MFT Swap that's due next month, this is for my 3rd set of cards (6) using My Umbrella. One thing I do with a lot of my clear stamp images - is I cut each phrase down (in half or thirds) which allows me to set it up on the mounting block so I can fit it into just about any shape.

I think this my favorite of the 3 cards I made for this swap.

Have a great night!

MOXIE FAB Challenge

Hello! Hope you all are having a wonderful Monday! I'm off today (my employer is closed - yipee!) so I'm happily at home in my little world of creativity. :)

Today's card is for Moxie Fab World's Inspiration Challenge. The following scrapbook page is to be used for our inspiration:

Here's a few inspirations from the scrapbook page:

  • Layout ~ I love the horizontal stripes and the circles off to the side of the layout. I used the circles as my focal points, & incorporated the horizontal strips of DP into the back ground of my card.  I tried to basically squeeze the same layout into a card format, and just removed the picture portion of the layout.
  • Colors. I tried to keep the same color scheme. I love that the light blue background really makes the rest of the page "pop" so I tried to do the same with mine. I also used the color scheme for my horizontal stripes
  • Ribbon - I love the ribbon done horizontally with the paper, so I did the same with mine.
My main floral image is from "Heartily Yours" Gina K Designs, I used part of the image so I could fit it in the circle. The sentiment is from an older SU! Hostess Set, Best Yet,

Happy 4th of July!

Happy 4th of July!

Hope you are having a fantastic holiday weekend celebrating our wonderful American freedoms! Here is my entry for this week's MFT Challenge, which was to use at least 3 ribbons on your card/challenge. I'm so stuck on these Pure Innocence images, they are just sooo adorable. This one is Fairy Girl (without her wings and mushroom). The dress is paper pieced. She's all ready for tonight's fireworks......I have to mention the bottom red ruffled ribbon, which is from May Arts, I just got it from my friend Michele and she has lots more pretty ribbon from the 2010 May Arts Collection HERE.

In addition to the MFT Challenge, this card is being submitted for these challenges as well:

Crazy4Challenges: 2 or more ribbons
KLS Stampin And Scrapping: Summer N Beach theme

Thanks for looking ~

Whipper Snapper Swap - Spot #2

Hello, quick share tonight - here is my 2nd card for Barb's Whipper Snapper Swap, I used this week's sketch over on the Crazy 4 Challenges Blog. The DP is from American Crafts, and my solid cardstock colors are Not Quite Navy (SU), Dusty Durango (SU) and Green Apple (Gina K). I also used some Dusty Durango SU! Polka Dot Ribbon.

I love this DP from American Crafts, I created an extra card from the leftover DP Scraps (below) using a retired SU Set (Just Cause' I Like You). The scalloped die behind the main image is from The Tim Holtz Sizzix Collection (totally love this line of dies!)
