December DD
Hello-Hello
Here is my card for this month's friendly Duel between the Divas and Darlings. Our hostesses this month are Barb and Michelle. This month our theme is Winter Travel, and Barb sent us Divas the most cutest image from Whipper Snapper (Downhill Snowman) with a matching sentiment - Chase Snowflakes (which can be seen on the inside of my card below). I had tons of fun using all the fun embellishments Barb sent with the kit, and I have to admit, I might have went a little overboard on them... :)
Here is the inside of my card:
For this month's duel, Barb & Michelle wanted us to share a winter travel story, whether it be sledding, skiing or skating. When I was younger, my grandparents lived in what is now my parent's home. I grew up about 2 blocks down the street from Grandma and Grandpa Nygaard. During the winter, my sister and I would haul or sleds up to Grandma and Grandpas to go sledding. Their house had a bit of a hill, and back in those days there was not a fence at the bottom of their property like their is now. So we would get some pretty long rides on the sled. The best part, is some days, my grandma would be baking the old fashioned cake doughnuts. She would send a bag of the donut holes home for our family. But she would also send us a smaller bag to munch on the way home. Mmmmm!
Please be sure to go check out the other Divas and Darlings and see what they have created...
Please start here, at Jeanette's blog for our friendly duel

MFTWSC101
Hello ~ Hello
trying to get back into some challenges again. You know I love sketch challenges! This is for MFTWSC101. The image is from one of my favorite (and newest) MFT sets Seasonal Sentiments I just love how bold the images are! Here is the sketch, which I flipped upside down (to move the snowflake embellishment up to fit the card design better.

December Unidentified Image Swap
Hello Hello
Today I am sharing my card created for the latest Unidentified Image Swap over on SCS. Jeanette is our hostess this month with a really cute snowman image from Darcie's Stamps (Peekin' Snowman) . The multi-colored polka dot paper is from My Minds Eye (Winter Wonderland Collection). The green polka-dot patterned paper is from Making Memories. I used basic grey brads and white ribbon from Denami. the scalloped circle die is from MFT
I absolutely LOVE the sentiment on the inside! I used MFT Banner die-namics, two snowflake punches (Marvy) and a Basic Grey button.

PTI Swaps
Hello Hello
I have been busy crafting today :) I'm hosting a PTI Swap over on SCS and was a little short on a few categories to make the swaps "even" to have enough to go around.
First up is a Christmas card I made using Candy Cane Christmas. I used a sentiment from Holiday Button Bits. I CASED this card from one of Dawn McVey's creations:
My second PTI Project is a couple of tags I created using Holiday Button Bits, and Vintage Holiday PTI Buttons:
Thanks for stopping by today :)

Going Places
Hello Hello
I hope you are enjoying November so far. It sure has been a busy month for me, between going to Arizona for a week and moving back to my hometown. I'm slowly but surely getting settled into the new "digs". My post is a bit late this month, as I have been busy moving.
Our November Duel is themed "Trains, Plains, and Automobiles. November is Aviation History Month and also has National Model Railroad Day. When I think of Aviation, I think of my mom who is always looking out for passing fighter planes that are running practice routes. I'm always amazing how easily she can tell the difference between a F-14 and F-16. I can't that's for sure!
I LOVE to travel, by all modes of transportation. The last 4-5 years my friend Scott and I have taken a few Amtrak trains. it's a wonderful way to see the country......and often the tracks do not travel along highways so you see things you would normally not see from a car. The longest train ride we have taken so far is 26 hours.
For my card, I decided not to use an image this time around. Our hostess carol sent such awsome papers I wanted to get as much of it on my card. I think I would use this card for someone that's taking a trip somewhere a long distance away, to remind them that I would be thinking of them during their journey.
Thanks for stopping by!
