Something I Love

Hello Hello

It's the 15th of the month (again!) and it's time for another Duel. Kelly is our hostess for the Divas and our theme this month is "Something I love". Kelly chose a MFT Set - London Mouse because of her love of Europe. She also sent some fun papers and embellishments to go with the adorable images. Since we are still "around" Valentine's Day I decided to make a love-themed card. The sentiment is from another MFT Set in my own stash. I loved that Kelly chose to send some die-cut images along so I could build a little scene. That's one of my favorite "techniques" these days.

Anyway - hope you like my card! Thanks for stopping by.

Floral Hello

Hello Hello -

I created this card with Gina K Designs newest StampTV kit - Hearts and Flowers. I've lately become a really fan of the StampTV kits, as you get two large stamp sets, coordinating steel dies, and 24 sheets of Gina K Cardstock.

My card uses the largest floral image, colored with Prismacolor Pencils and Gamsol. The sentiment is stamped in Gina K Bubble Gum Pink Ink. The diecut flower is layered on Gina K Silver & Bubblegum Pink cardstock, and then the Base is Gina K Heavyweight White. I added some silver gemstones to the corners to give it a little bling.

Thanks for stopping by! Hugs ~ LJ

Mystery Image Swap #44

Hello Hello

Today I am sharing my card for Mystery Image Swap #44 on SCS. This round is being hostessed by Tracie. The hostess provides us with stamped images to make four cards. We create and send four cards to the hostess, and she sends us 3 cards back plus images for the next round (for a new hostess).  I was happy to see a Whipper Snapper floral image - as I am tired of winter! I used some brighter colors on my cards. The prismacolor colors I used are below:

I also added a Stampin Up Button to the sentiment banner. The Happy Birthday sentiment is from A Sellabration set from 4 or 5 years ago.

Can't wait to see the cards I get back and the images for round #45

DD - New Beginnings

Hello Hello

It's the 15th of the month and it's time for a new duel between the Dazzlers and Divas. To start off the new year, Darlene is hostessing the Dazzlers and I am hostessing the Divas. Our theme this month was "new beginnings". We sent each sent our group of ladies a kit with a January 2018 Calendar. We asked them to be creative, and use the content kits to create a "new" card. It could be for the new year, a fun holiday, whatever they choose. They also were encouraged to use any stamps of their own they wanted in order to complete their project.

I sent the Divas an assortment of papers from the Mint To Be Fab 12X12 Collection from Hobby Lobby. I loved all the gold, black, mint and pink colors and thought it would fit a number of themes that anyone chose for their card. I also included some gold embellishments, a gold tag, and some ribbon.

My card was created for January 20th - which is Penguin Appreciation Day. :) I put a gold heart on January 20th which is Penguin Appreciation Day, but it's also the day I will get to see quite a few of the Divas and Darlings: Barb (our generous hostess) & Terry are here in Wisconsin, Jeanette is driving up from southern Illinois, Kelly from Florida (flying) Darlene (from the east coast), and Carol (from Minnesota). The six of us are attending Camp-Stamp-in-Oga which is an all day crafty event in Waukesha! I simply cannot wait to see them this weekend. Especially Kelly, as this is her first trip up here. She loves snow and she is going to get it  as it snowed 5 inches here today :) Yay!

New Years Challenge!

Hello Hello -

Today's card is for a SCS Challenge Your Stash. Each month someone chooses a "challenge" for us to complete without buying any new stash (supplies) to create the card. Our challenge this month was to create a New Years Card that does not involve alcohol. So I pulled out a SU! Set that had some balloons in them, some glitter stuff and got busy! My table is full of glitter now - which is fine :) I love glitter. I'm glad I changed out of my work clothes before I started. Ha ha!

Anyways the balloons are embossed with Silver Zing Glitter Powder from American Crafts.  Underneath the white oval matted on silver Cardstock (gina k) is black glitter ribbon on top of black satin ribbon. The "2018" are Thickers Numbers........I have a whole bucket of these I have rarely used, so this was the perfect challenge to dig them out......so anyway the silver card stock is matted on black bazzill cardstock and then matted on a shiny hot pink card base from the Paper Cut (which I have had forever - going to keep those out as they will make great valentines card bases!

Ok that's it for now - have a happy new year! Hugs  ~LJ

Christmas Kitty

Hello Hello

During 2017 I participated in a simple Christmas Card kit swap. Over the course of the year, I received 6 kits containing 2 quarter sheets of pattern paper, and a few Christmas images to make a Christmas Card (or two) with. My last kit came from Heather . She picked out this darling Kitty image and some papers that coordinated perfectly with the greenery in the image. I colored the image and added some Real Red and Artichoke cardstock, along with some red ribbon and bling.

Thanks so much Heather for the cute kit!
