WSC44 - simple flower

here is my card for Beate's weekend sketch challenge (#44) I wanted to keep the image simple, because of all the "business going on with the background paper. I also used a oval for the image instead of the rectangle. I like this design but the card came together a little tough for me because I am terrible at measurements. The Flower is from Gina K's How Sweet It Is (can you tell i lOVE this set???), I colored in the flower with my Prismacolors & used Gina K Odorless Mineral Spirits to Color the image in. I'm still a novice with the water-coloring, but I think with practice I will get better.  Thanks for looking!

SC172 Sweet Birthday

Good evening,
Well, I got the SCS weekly sketch challenge done, only a day after it was posted. remarkable for me. This one came together pretty easy. I used Gina K's "How Sweet It Is" Set, for both the image and sentiment. I really like this sketch because you can use a lot of pattern paper with it! I'm a pattern paper geek! I'm also showing off one of my new "toys" here, my prismacolor pencils, which I got on vacation in Arizona last month, and Gina K's Odorless Mineral Spirits. They are so easy to use together. I'm kicking myself for not getting them sooner!

Paper: Retired SU DSP, Whisper White, Gray, Perfect Plum, Pretty in PInk,

No card tonight....

Good evening everyone,
Didn't get much stamping done tonight other than
finishing up the Flap Fold cards I posted yesterday.
I started another swap but the cards are not done
yet so I will have to wait until tomorrow to post
them. We are getting some much needed rain here
in Wisconsin. But not sure we need this much!
Have a good night!

Flap fold card....

I signed up for a flap-fold card swap on SCS, having never done one before. Well, this is what I came up with. Basically the card folds twice (once from the bottom and once from the top). I started with a 4.25" X 11" sheet of celery cardstock, and then scored it at 3", and 7.5". The actual card is 4.25" by 4" when folded. The inside middle panel can be stamped as well (which is above). The card is "held together" with a velcro dot on the bottom of the big flower (from SU Retired Big Blooms).
The deets:
Sets: Happy Everything, Big Blooms (retired)
CS: Certainly Celery, Pretty in Pink, Whisper Whisper White, Pattern Paper from Retired SAB Simply Scrappin Kit,
Ink: Close to Cocoa, Bashful Blue, Pretty In Pink
Access: Bashful Blue Striped Grossgrain, Ticket Corner Punch, Brads, Dimensionals, Velcro Dots, Circle Punches

Have a great night! I went to the gym tonight so between walking 45 minutes & stamping 7 of these (6 for a swap & 1 for me) I am tired! LOL!

Beate's WSC42 - Sort of....

Okay, I tried, really! I thought I had Beate's sketch all down pat (with the exception of the extra circle - I needed a sentiment somewhere!). Then I realized I had the rectangle panels laid down the wrong way after finishing the card. Been one of those days! :) I'm still happy with the card. This was my 3rd try...
The deets:
Stamps: Down on the Farm, Tag You're It
CS: Bashful Blue, So Saffron, Wild Wasabi, Purely Pomegranate, Whisper White, Cutie Pie DSP
Ink: Bashful Blue, Basic Brown, Wild Wasabi,
Accessories: Wild Wasabi Striped Grossgrain, So Saffron Brads, 1.25" & 1 3/8 Circle punches, Cuttlebug Circle Die (both whisper white and wild wasabi circles)

Punchie Elmo

Happy Sunday!
One of the swaps I signed up on SCS recently was a punch swap. Basically punches had to be the focal point of the card. Awhile back I was searching on Elmo in the SCS Gallery for some reason, and came across this idea. (The hat is my own creation though!). The sentiment is from SU Happy Everything, and the dsp is retired from a simply scrappin kit from about 3 years ago. Enjoy!

It started off As....

A card for Beate's weekend sketch challenge. Then I don't know what happened. It got turned around a little bit. Oh well. I wanted to finish it. That's why I love sketches, because often it's just a starting point & you end up somewhere completely different. Although this time I got the main elements still in the card, two rectangles, and the focal point is a circle. I had to hand cut the circle out - I couldn't find my Fiskars cutter for my circle templates, and I don't have any larger circle punches. The scallops around the circle are circles that I punched out. I used the Nursery Necessities stamps set from SU. Now, I am not big on baby sets, but I really like this set. I like the bold images, and I can take this boat stamp and use it for other cards besides baby cards (kid's birthday for example). They are a little dark in the picture, but the brads are brilliant blue. I also used Pumpkin Pie Striped Grossgrain, along with 3 different SU DSPs. I was mixin&matchin tonight! I'm going to try beate's sketch again tomorrow, and maybe this time it would be a good idea to write down her measurements! LOL! Have a good night!
