Sunsets....

Last night I got myself a new camera. I totally love it. I have been wanting a digital SLR for a long time. I have an old Canon Rebel film model that I just loved before the "digital age" and wanted a digital SLR so I could use my old lenses again (especially for sporting events). Tonight I ventured out at sunset to James Madison Park (Lake Mendota). I live on an isthmus so I have two lakes one mile part (with me in the middle LOL). Lake Mendota has the better sunsets, and this is one of the pictures I took tonight.

Hello

I decided to go with a different layout for awhile, as I think it will make it easier for me to format my posts! :)

Where Have I Been?

And I got to meet Kristi, owner of Hanna Stamps! Kristi was so generous and sweet - she brought little gifties for all of us and taught us a copics class! Thanks Kristi!

Hello! I am back! I went to Columbus Ohio for the weekend for a big Shoe Box Swap with all of my SCS friends. Our hostesses (Heather and Manda) have been planning this for us for nearly a year and they did just a fantabulous job! We were all spoiled rotten with door prizes, fun, and fantastic food and the most wonderful hospitality :)
There were about 15-17 of us at the SBS on Saturday. We rented out a room for the swap and just stamped, chatted and created all day long! Here are some of my friends:
Back Row: Yoorah, Marci, Me
Front Row: Cheryl, Jackie, Joy
(and of course that's Rae Anne in the back sitting on the bed!

This is me and my friend Cheryl, who lives in Michigan, we met last summer in Chicago and it was so wonderful to see her again (just make sure ya stay longer next year GF!_

Quick Post!

Here is a card I made for Kate's Diners, Drive-ins and Dives swap on SCS. I found this digital image on line, reminded me of the refreshment ads that they used to show at the drive-in before the movie started. I used DCWV Nana's Kitchen DP, and I think the blueish DP looks like those ole Kitchen blacksplashes from the 50's and 60's (although I would love to have a backsplash like this now! :) Gotta love retro!

MFT CHALLENGE

Hello,

Here is a card I made for an MFT Challenge recently. I used Flower Flopsey for the challenge, which was to create a summery card with flowers and polka dots.

I'm not sure about the summery part, but I got the polka dots and flowers in!

I'm starting to really love Flopsey, I feel like I need to have all of them! Ah - another stamp collection to start! :)

Have a great night!

More Gina K Challenges

Good Evening!

This is the 2nd Challenge Card I created for the June Gina K Designs Release. The challenge was to make a one-layer cards. I'm usually intimidated by one-layer cards because I am one of those people that likes to use lots of layers. But I had this idea using Melanie's A Year of Flowers Set (Gina K) and went with it. I first stamped the 3rd flower (from the left) on the white card (120 lb Gina K Luxury White - which is perfect for one layer cards). I then stamped the same image again on a post-it note to create my "mask" so I could stamp the other flowers with out overlapping the original image. The ribbon is a new color from SU, Soft Suede.
