Love is in the air (still!)

It's time for our February Duel ~ Here's what Barb sent us about the details for this month's kit:

Hello Darlings—welcome to our February Challenge.

I (this is Barb) am writing this sheet of instructions for myself to all of the Divas and also for Debbie for all of the Dazzlers. Our theme for February 15th is Feel the Love!

With the post being the day after Valentine’s Day, we wanted the love to continue for another day……………………..

Debbie has stamped the sentiment The Fruit is the Spirit of Love for both teams to use. She is not sure of the company who made the stamp as the name is blurred on the wood. You must use the sentiment on your card, but you also can add any image of your choosing if you want. The sentiment is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and Brown along with Stampin’ Up Real Red

I absolutely loved this month's kit - there was so much pretty red and pink in the kit. Everything Barb sent (which was a lot) was so beautifully coordinated.

I gave this card to my mom and dad for Valentine's Day last night when we went out to dinner. It was the perfect card for them!

Unidentified Image Swap

Hello ~ Hello

Here is my card for the 11th round an Unidentified Image swap on SCS.  It is a group of ladies who are a part of a bi-monthly swap where we all use the same image, sent to us by the hostess.  I love the Snoopy image that was provided this month by Jody! So cute!

Jody asked us to use our own sentiment on our cards, I found a 12X12 sheet of bingo type cards on a grid and thought they would be really cute with this image. All of the patterned paper is from October Afternoon, and I used some SU! Ribbon and Basic Grey brads to finish it off.

Rev Up The Fun

Hello Hello -

Quick post today, as I have to get ready for the Badger Basketball game tonight at the Kohl Center.  I made this card recently for one of Barb's swaps on SCS - Planes, Trains & Automobiles. This was the perfect chance to ink up some images from a SU! Set - Rev It Up. The red embossed background is a Cuttlebug Embossing Folder, and the Black Tire Embossed Panel is from Tim Holtz.

Happy Heart

Hello ~ Hello

Thought I would play with some of my new MFT stamps (Pure Innocence Happy Heart Snowman) today. He's such a cute guy (although I am quite tired of winter in general and can't wait for spring!) My card is being entered in this week's Deconstructed Sketch Challenge.  I paper pieced part of the image (heart). The patterned paper is from My Mind's Eye (Dilly Dally 6X6 Pad)

Courage

Hello ~ Hello

Thought I would play along with this week's MFT Sketch. I rotated the sketch to fit the sentiment better which reads "Courage is being scared to death and saddling up anyway ~ John Wayne".  The patterned paper is from Cosmo Cricket, Ribbon is SU!, buttons are either Basic Grey or PTI.

Choose Hope

Hello ~ Hello

It's the 15th of the month again and time for this month's duel. This month's hostess is Carol and our theme is "Angels". She sent us a couple of adorable angel images to choose from and a really pretty pastel themed kit.

My life lately has been full of angels watching over my family as we continue to "Chose Hope" and while my dad continues to fight a courageous battle with cancer. It's never easy for anyone to deal with on an emotional or physical level. Each person reacts differently to the challenges it brings. However what we do know, is that nobody can be get through it without "angels" along the way, including family, friends close and far away, medical personnel,  and other angels who show up when you least expect them. It might be shoveling snow or it sometimes it's just a quick, "hang in there" when you are in a valley, or an "wonderful" when you are at a peak. Because of my dad's will to fight and angels,  I continue to "Choose Hope" while we go through this chapter in our life.

Much gratitude and thanks to those "angels" that have been there the last 6 months. I'm truly blessed to have the support I have in my life, through the good times and bad.

Thanks so much for stopping by today ~ much love to you all ~ LJ

Away In A Manger...

Hello-Hello

It's the 15th of the Month (December is just flying by this year!) and it's time for our monthly Duel between the Divas and Darlings. Our theme this month is "A Christmas Story". I absolutely fell in love with this month's kit that Kelly sent us! This Manger scene image from Inky-Antics is just too cute! (so cute, I actually ordered it about a week ago with a few other Inky Antics Stamps!

Christmas is always a special time of year for me, when my family and I celebrate the most important Birthday of all, the birth of baby Jesus. It's also a time for me to reflect on the many blessings in my life, including my family, faith, and health.

Friday, Mom, Dad and I went to see Trans Siberian Orchestra here in town. While it's not an annual tradition. (we try to go when they are here), this years' performance lifted our spirits, and truly put me into the Christmas mood. My hope is that everyone finds "something" to put them in this holiday spirit, whether it's a church service, a Christmas song on the radio, or volunteering with those in less need.

Thanks for stopping by today! Hugs ~ LJ
