Hello Pumpkin...

Hello ~ Hello

Quick post tonight - with one of the cards I created (actually made a 6-pack) for Viv's Holiday card swap on SCS. I have three spots in this swap - Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas for a total of 18 cards that need to be made and sent out within the next 1-2 days :) I have two spots done already so I am on a good pace. This is for my halloween spot. The adorable images are from a*muse (some of my favorites from their wood-mount collection). The striped pattern-paper is from Bo Bunny Press. I love using green in halloween cards. Gable Green was used for the base (I picked up a good sized opened pack of it when my SU! Demo had her SU! Garage Sale).  I think the black gingham ribbon is from May Arts. The sentiment was stamped in black on Only Orange (SU!)

I will share my Thanksgiving spot on my next blog post, I used the same sketch!

Thanks for looking and have a great evening!

Pop The Cork...

The Milwaukee Brewers are the 2011 National League Central Division Champions! I bought the champagne on the way home from work Friday night on the way home from work, and as the Brewers were busy clinching the division, I was busy at my craft desk creating this super cute tag with the MFT PI Cheerleader Set. I just LOVE how this turned out. I matched up my colors to the Brewers Pennant, which I purchased quite some time ago!

Thanks for stopping by!

School Girl

Hello ~ Hello

Thanks so much for stopping by today, I hope you are enjoying your day! My card today was created with papers and stamps from the new Graphic45 An ABC Primer Collection.  My mom is a huge fan of this collection (and Graphic45 in general) and shared some of her goodies with me to play with. This is the first card I came up with. The card is a little lighter in real life, But i love the antique-feel that the setting on my camera gave me for this card.

School is Cool!

Hello~Hello

It's the 15th of the month so it's time for another Duel between the Darlings and Divas. The theme this month is "School Is Cool" and Jamie is our hostess this month with a super cute card kit to play with! I chose to use the super cute bus image, and a coordinating sentiment on the inside of my card. The patterned paper is from DCWV (had to make sure that apple made it in somewhere ~ love it!). I loooove the yellow pom-pom ribbon.  The primary colors used for my card are Real Red, YoYo Yellow, and Bashful Blue (all SU!) Below is the inside of my card.

As part of this month's challenge, the hostesses asked us if we would share a favorite school memory....I graduated from McFarland High School in 1990.  Go Spartans (we share the same fight song with the University of Michigan, although my mind likes to just think that we share our song with them!) My best times from school were sports related.  I was part of the Boys' High School Baseball Team for 3 seasons. I was team score-keeper. So I kept track of the hits, runs, errors. etc. I also did some pitching charts, keeping track of where the ball was hit by the opposing team so that we could position the defense more accurately the next time the opposing team came to bat. Each hitter has different "tendencies". Some hit the ball to all fields (left right and center) some are dead-pull hitters, some always hit to the opposite field. Anyhow, that was my involvement with the team. I was the only girl on the bus *grin*. Unfortunately we had more losses than wins.....but my time spent with the team and learning with the game were some of the fun times of my teenager years.

The picture below shows my two letters I earned from high school sports - the left one is a boys' letter from my senior year with the baseball team (at the time ~ it was thought that I was one of the first girls in WIAA state history to letter in boys baseball ~ I never found out if that was really true). The letter on the right is from playing Fall Girl's Tennis ~ something I am also very proud of. It was not until my senior year that I was able to participate as an athlete in sports. I always loved tennis, I'm sure before joining the team I launched more than my share of tennis balls on to the roof of the high-school. My senior year was probably my favorite year of all my school year.

This year, more school memories are being created as my niece Octavia (Miss Tavi) begins her learning journey, how time flies! :)

Anyhow, if you are still reading this, you've made it through my long blab about my school memories ~ and I will give you all an A+ for bearing with me today...
:-)

I hope you enjoyed my post for today, Please check out the other Darling Diva's as well ~ to see what they have on their blog waiting for you:

Judy, Barb, Laura Jean (me) Judy, Jamie, Kelly Joan and Carol

MFTWSC36 - Sweet Treat!

Hello~Hello~

Normally I wait until October 1st to pull out the halloween stamps, but I had this cute Honey Bee PI image from MFT Stamps in my head for this week's MFT Sketch Challenge and couldn't resist using it. It's a little ironic this image was one that I chose "this morning",  I actually was stung by a bee this evening while taking out the garbage (I'm okay as you can see, it didn't stop me from crafting tonight - just a little swelling where the buzzer got me). LOL

I stamped the image on MFT Perfect Panels, then colored in with my markers (including some spica glitter pens ~ love these!). I then triple-matted the image with pumpkin pie, purple, and black (my photography lighting was not the best tonight, sorry!). I also used some glitter brads from american crafts, and some ribbon from Hobby Lobby (love the zig-zags!). The top two pattern paper panels are from SU!, the bottom one is from K&CO. I stamped the sentiment with black, and then matted it 3 times there. I LOVE using lots of layers!

Thanks for stopping by today! :)

Paper Trey Ink Swap

Hello ~ Hello

Just sharing a couple of cards (6 each) I have been working on for a Paper Trey Ink Swap on SCS. I really love how the Birthday Card (above) turned out with the balloon, my Big Shot Express certainly got a workout this weekend while making these. For the Birthday Card I used Every Day Button Bits. The patterned paper is from SU!, and the open scalloped die is from MFT. The other dies I used are from Spellbinders.

The thank-you card floral images are from the 2010 Summer CHA Set, Four of a Kind. The sentiment is from Every Day Button Bits. I also used the SU! Top Note Die (still a favorite), a couple of SU! Punches, and some gold yummy satin ribbon I received from my friend Michele.

Thanks so much for stopping by today. :)

MOJO206 & C4C

Hello ~ Hello

It's a little too HOT to go fishing here in south-central, but I couldn't resist inking up this cute image from Stamping Bella for two challenges this week - MOJO Monday Sketches #206 and Crazy 4 Challenges (Masculine Card). The patterned paper and card-stock are from SU!, felt ribbon is from SU!, Buttons are from basic Grey, and I also used SU! circle and scalloped circle punches. The Happy Birthday sentiment from There She Goes Stamps (Holidays Galore) is stamped in Marina Mist. The size of the card is 5.5" square.

Thanks for stopping by today! Have an awsome Thursday!
