SC195 - Jolly Santa

I decided to go back and try last weeks' SCS Sketch Challenge. I used the "I Wish" Simply Scrappin Kit from SU. I really need to start playing with this kit. it's one of my new favorites. I ordered it right away when the new catalog came out and it just sat in the package for awhile. The stamp set is "A Holly Jolly Holiday" which is also SU. The Santa image is popped up on dimensionals, the tree is stamped directly on Whisper White. I had "issues" with this sketch. I tried to "wing it" on the measurements of the 3 square panels, and then realized it would be easier to go by the sample on SCS (lesson learned - LOL),

Have a great night!

cc186 Really Chocolate Breezes

I made this card for todays color challenge (Chocolate Chip, Really Rust, and Baja Breeze. I added the Vanilla and Au Chocolate (retured) DSP. For stamps I used Eastern Blooms and Bella Blooms (sentiment). This is the first challenge I did since coming back from vacation. These colors remind me of fall. It was only 60 degrees here today, and some of the leaves are changing color. We saw a lot of fall foliage on the east coast last week.

Have a great night!

Back and Ready to Stamp

I'm home sweet home from vacation! What a WONDERFUL trip we had, going to 8 ball-games, along with sightseeing in NYC, Philadelphia, Boston, And Washington DC. I wish I would have been able to post more while I was on the road as planned, but I opted not to take the laptop with me and the hotel internet prices were crazy. Anyzoo, I am back home safe and sound (and happy to have my stamping haven back!) Here is the first project I worked on after getting back this morning, I had these OTC boxes I received in the mail from another swap and wanted to make a box using Whimsical Autumn (designed by Carolyn King for Gina K Designs). The leaves were colored in with WWC and Blender Pens, the Squirrel I colored in with my Prismacolor Markers.

More to come later ~~~

Day 1

Having problems posting the image, Day 1 was great! Went to Yankee Stadium for a 1:05 matinee against the Orioles! Was scoreless until the Yankees won in the bottom of the 9th! Baseses Loaded with two outs.....After game we came back to our hotel in Newark NJ and had a wonderful dinner. Our bus is full for the most part (4 empty seats I think) And all the folks are really nice.

Tomorrow is the BIG game - FINAL GAME AT YANKEE STADIUM. We depart at 8:45 am in the morning for a tour of Ellis Island & The Statue of Liberty.

I'm on a time clock with the PC here at the hotel so I'll make this post a short one.....

The Wait is Over...

I'm taking a break from stamping for a week, but hopefully not from blogging. I have another "love" in my life, and that happens to be baseball.  Today I am headed out to the east coast for what will probably be one of the most cherished weeks I will ever have. I am headed out to NYC for the last games at Yankee Stadium. I'm going on a baseball tour with 45 other baseball fans with a group called Jay Buckley Tours. Jay's been doing these tours for 25+ years, and I have been lucky enough to go on them since 1996. I met my best friend Scott in 1997 on a tour, and we have been going on them together ever since, seeing close to 40 different ballparks together, every major league city (including two in Canada) and many historic moments. Although ~ I am not sure how any of the moments will compare with the closing of the "House That Ruth Built". I've been there before, been on the outfield track, in the Yankee Dugout, yet there is the unknown about going to the last game. I'm not a Yankee fan by any means, but I am a baseball fan. If you would have told me 5, 10 ,15 years ago I was going to be at the LAST game at Yankee Stadium, I would have bet you $10,000 that was not going to happen, but the time is nearly here.

So, if you will excuse me, I'll be absent from posting stamped cards this week, and instead I will be posting memories from my baseball trip as I can from the hotel computers. We are often in late and out early, but I will post when I can.

If your are curious to see the whole trip itinerary, you can view it HERE

Off to the airport! :)

My Salvation

I finally broke into my SU Pretties Kit that I have been hoarding for 7-8 months. I used the Asela's Flowers for Daisy Set (Gina K Designs) for the sentiment. For the flowers, I colored them in using an Aqua Painter and Pacific Point and Riding Hood Red Re-inkers. I really like the deep color shade. I plan on sending this card to my aunt and uncle.

I'll be on vacation 9/19 through 9/29 so I won't be posting any cards for awhile, see you when I get back!
